Luxray Arceus and Unown G

Hello there,

Quick question on Luxray's Gadget Bolt attack and Unown G : If Luxray has Unown G attached to Luxray, then Gadget Bolt does 100 damage as it has a Pokemon Tool attached to it .. the question is , do I have to Discard Unown G as part of the attack's effect ? .. Unown G clearly states "prevent all effects of attacks, excluding damage, done to that Pokemon" , making no mention to who's doing de attack ( me or my opponent ) , therefore as discarding is an effect of Gadget Bolt , it would be prevented and then Luxray can hit for 100 every turn without discarding.

Is this accurate ?

And things like this is why they had to issue an errata on this card.
The Japanese text always stated that it only protected against effects of opponent's attacks.
When it was translated, this restriction was accidentally left off.
They issued a correction (an errata) to the text that it will only protect against effects from opponent's attacks.

You can find all errata in the Compendium Level X at the link at the top of the page called "Compendium Rulings".
Every player should be aware of these because no one is required to have a reference to these changes.
