Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Luxray GL/ Garchomp C

Great article :)

I'm just trying Ditto in my builds and looks good against Gengar. You may even be able to pull off a return ko with Dragon Rush or Earthquake cause Ditto will hit for double weakness :) (when used with Bronzong G and Crobat G)

Good read.

A few things I noticed

It's like you overstacked on searched but nixed nearly all recovery to pay for it. As stated previously by someone else, I would expect your mirror to be beggar-class poor. You'd get down to like three or four Prizes and run smack into a wall. Premiere Ball is search and recovery rolled into one, and given Call/Collector pulling out the required non-Xs you might desire (the one thing Premiere cannot do for you), I don't think you need Pokemon Communication.

My favorite Mewtwo Counter is Honchkrow. Both Drifblim and Honchkrow counter Mewtwo and Machamp; but unlike Drifblim, Honchkrow can also OHKO just about everything in Lostgar while filling up their bench with useless basics or whatever. This means Weavile isn't even needed, giving an extra slot (assuming one was running Weavile AND an anti-Mewtwo tech).

I don't know if you said this, but if you run a Mewtwo counter, you also need a Palmer to recover it in case your opponent Palmers their Mewtwo, snipes your Basic, etc.

Wow, I thought I posted in this, correct me if I'm wrong, lol. I've been reading through the comments, and when I read over Zach's, I cant complain. He is right; LuxChomp doesn't have favourable matchups all across the board. It's an amazing deck, but it preys off of disruption. It also gets easily disrupted, which is why Sablelock and Vilegar are tough matchups. Personally, I don't think Vilegar is a positive matchup anymore, but it is very winnable. LuxChomp is by far NOT luck based, its incredibly skilled. When you look at it, its pretty much a match of cards. You need to pull out a bluff to counter their pure setup if you get the weaker hand, and a Power Spray never hurt ;) Good article, but you gotta really think the matchups through,.

pokemandan: Thanks

Phazon: Like I said before, I did the list to perform well for the absolute beginner. The list is strong enough to take on decks, but while it does lack the techs you are stating, the deck is easily techable as stated many times.

viet: I like it a lot.

Jacob: Sorry to say, but I disagree. I did not put every matchup as favorable. I have never had an issue with VileGar or Sablelock, and through testing I have won far more than lost.

You have to start with Call/Lux and Lux X/Bebe to get around Spiritomb. If you don't, you don't get that off. It's actually quite difficult. This means most of the time, no trainers, and let's face it, trainers are what makes LuxChomp good. Otherwise the attacks are mostly, the cards have low health. Cards aren't easy to come by either, as about half of your cards are dead during a turn (including excess cards). It's also not easy to kill Plume, as they have Rescues and potentially Twins to fetch them back. All the while they're hitting for at the bare minimum 2HKOs on all primary attackers. Without extra techs, this match up is pretty bad. Include potential bad starts for Vilegar and the match up ends up being around 30-70 or 35-65.

This is a terrible stupid article

Get out of the thread, and stay out if you have nothing to say. Troll.

Croatian nidoking: Luxchomp is a deck that could run Dialga as a 1-1, as mentioned in techs, but if you were to put an emphasis on Defean, that would be more DialgaChomp w/ Luxray tech.

vietgamer: Maybe so, that would be your meta choice.

As it stands one of your matchups is incorrect.

Luxchomp vs luxchomp should be unfavorable, assuming you're using this list and they're using a good one. Not that your list is particularly bad, but it is very poor for the mirror. A good luxchomp will rip this apart.

Take out smeargle for a Dragonite, and take out 1 Garchomp Lv.x for another basic Garchomp C. Toxi promo really isn't needed IMO. I do like that you run 4 spray. That is key in winning the mirror.

That should be a pretty good start.

When I wrote mirror, I suppose I was speaking of playing against the EXACT same list haha. Yes, you are correct. I may as well explain that a TECHED build for Luxchomp wins mirror.

Great article! I love my LuxChomp.
[DEL]But I hate myself, because I SUCK at playing it.
Does anyone know where I could watch a vid or something of a good player playing LuxChomp? It's just not on for me. I am cosistently losing to DialgaChomp, and Jumpluff (by only 1 prize though).
Edit: I mean, I knew SPs were hard to play and required loads of skill, but LuxChomp is just INSANE.[/DEL]
Actually, I went through each and every bit of this article, and I feel like it's def helped me. I think I'm not being disruptive enough, and I'm boosting my consistency to get early Rushes/BLs.
Thanks dude :D
