Lv.X's - I'm surprised they're treated as Pokemon

Lv.X cards aren't really "new" Pokemon that evolve from other Pokemon. They are "stat enhancers" that act on an existing Pokemon.

As such, it just seems odd that you can get a Lv.X using Bebe's.

To me, it's a funny mechanic that just feels a bit "off."

That seemed weird to me at first, too. But I guess the rationale for that is that if they count as that Pokemon in your decklist, then they would count as that Pokemon when using cards that can search a Pokemon that doesn't specify a stage, since they don't have one.

I actually lean a little bit in the other direction; I'm surprised basic Lv.Xs aren't searchable through Roseanne's Research. I mean, all Pokémon have a level on them... it's just that, on Lv.Xs, the level is "X" instead of say, 36.

Yes, I think that a different Level (I mean, all Arceus are LV. 100) is very different than an "ex" sign next to the Pokemon. I would hope LV. X's in the future will be Stage 3 Pokemon! Turtwig - Grotle - Torterra - Gaira!

If they didn't count as Pokémon, the only way to pull them from a deck would be through a Premiere Ball or the few things that allow you to take any card that you want. Nobody would use a card that's almost impossible to search for - relying on it just randomly showing up at the right time is way too unreliable.

As for Rosanne's, how fair would it be to be able to use one card to pull out the basic and matching LVX at the same time? Or better yet, if you already have two appropriate basics in play, to pull two LVX at the same time that match them both?

I don't have any problem with it as it is - they may not be "new" Pokémon, but they're still Pokémon - they have HP, attacks, etc. But since they are "enhancers" that can't function without the underlaying Pokémon, it makes sense that they're not a specific stage, but just floating in limbo, until they actually are played.

That's Qwachansey's weirdness showing. Ignore it.

So funny. Very nice post :D
Kind mean, but so funny.

OT: I agree with the Gorn. It seems like you shouldn't be able to grab it. It's like a Plus Power or something. Then again, I like the mechanic as it is.

Look at it this way
They aren't Supporters, Trainers or Stadiumcards, so what is left are Pokemon, therefor they are Pokemoncards which can be searched for with Bebé.

Exactly.

Also, As for the stage 3 thing mentioned earlier...that would be broken because then you could have 4 of both in your deck. As it stands right now they share a name so it counts as one toward the 4 limit.

It doesn't Say Basic anywhere on the Card.
It's the same concept as you Can't get EX with Celio's Network ~_~

Qwachansey is the best member of the Gym!

Also, I'm glad that Lv. Xs aren't searchable with Roseanne's, personally.

There's no reason they would be able to, anyways, it doesn't say anywhere on the card that it is "Basic."

It Levels-Up from Azelf, whether Azelf happens to be Basic or Stage 3873497.

to reply as to why basic level X's are not searchable via Roseanne's. I can make any level X in the format be a basic.

Garchomp lv X's restore anybody?

Yeah, Uxie Lv X is not basic so you can't search for it with Roseanne, but it is a basic so you can Take it out with Machamp and you can't attack Mewtwo Lv X. I've given up trying to understand the logic and I've just memorized the rulings.
