Yes there is, Typhlosion takes 5 spots and you need Candy, reason enough NOT to play it.

Magmortar's damage capability is mediocre at best when not using acceleration and scramble isn't working. That means you are reliant on your opponent activating your scrambles, meaning your opponent decides when you can go aggro. Gallade will see this, drop a sonic blade, and laugh.
There is NO reason why not to make your deck far more powerful at the cost of only a few spaces, there is no reason not to use Typhlosion.

I'm testing a similar version of this deck but I'm running a 2-2 Claydol line which works fine. I'm also running the Fishing Engine (credit to MrMeches) so I can burn my hand for more Claydol draws. I found the Supporter oriented engine a little too slow. The key to winning a G&G is to spread damage and be patient!

rofl. ATHF ftw.

Bleh, I tested this out today against a few decks. I agree with you now about Typhlosion(i has seen the light) but my metagame is really *bad and I think I'm fixed on no Typhlosion. This deck vs gg has a very hard time winning if GG sets up on par with you. Bleh, took me like a million turns to come around and win it.

Like i said, you will be behind most of the game, but if you play right, then you should be able to win it.

lol test the deck and get back to me.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

This deck vs gg has a very hard time winning if GG sets up on par with you.

if gg ever lets you set up you win the game, no questions asked. that is if you play typhlosion. it probably loses without it.

Agreed. If you don't run energy acceleration, they will simply toy with you with Sonic Blade until the eventually wager and power lock you. A few scramles are nice, but if they bring all of your mags down two 50, they can trade shots with you with KO's. And take my word for it, if G&G gets you where they want you (and a smart player will do just that), they will come out ahead of this deck every time. EVERY TIME.

OK i agree. typhlosion is better than no typhlosion. So i added typhlosion, changed the strategy, and the matchups, rite before my computer froze up. The problem is that it froze up right when I clicked "save changes", and it didn't save.

Any suggestions on the trainer line after i add typhlosion later this evening? IS the fishing engine better than the supporter engine? I need some advice on that. I was considering adding A lunitone to discard energy for typhlosion to firestarter. Any thoughts?

Pokemon-19

1 Magmortar Lv X (MT)- Snipe for the last prize.
3 Magmortar (SW)- Main attacker. The deck is built around him.
4 Magmar (MT)- Turn 1 20.
3 Claydol (GE)- Major deck manipulation! Gets you exactly what you need w/ having to discard. Major part of the deck. It replaces many draw trainers. Is also a good anti-absol tech.
3 Baltoy (GE)-He's here to evolve into claydol- not a bad starter though; also kills absol <<<<< It's nice to see that you know how to use a simicolon, Sam!
4 Pachirisu (GE)-Gets you 3 basics. He's also good against cessation crystal.
1 Unknown G (GE)-This is another nice tech. You can get him with rosseanes, he prevents bring down and sonic blade, and if poison decks get popular... this deck would have a hard time without unknown Gaurding you! (That's funny)

Reply is in bold next to Baltoy.

My bad. Sorry I got it confused with something else. It still helps against sniping decks however. Thanks for pointing that out.

EDIT: Ok, I took out the dugtrio line. It helped, but i guess that its more of something that other people would tech against ME, not me against them. Yall were rite. <<<<<But it's to bad you don't know that ya'll is a contraction for "you all". You also can't spell "right".
;)

Okay, back to the point......

Take out a fire energy and add a Castaway in...

Nice deck over all!

EDIT: Whoa Sam chill out! I was just kidding. People nit pick me I nit pick back, but I did it to a friend because I figgered that he could handle it, but was I wrong! You need some pills boy! (Oh and just so you know this time I'm just kidding.)

OK, first of all, thats SPAM! Secondly, it's good to know that your a grammar maniac. Start going to Snowden CLUE English with Mrs. Dobbins and see if you last a week. Pokemon and "correct grammar" just don't mix. So go write a book if your going to be "Mr. Punction and Spelling Chief". Now back to this deck, Castaway is OK, but I already have one in here and 12 fire is already cutting it a little close... you need a lot to use magmortar to its FULL potential. Not a bad idea though.

Thanks for the "advice"

Okay you have one Castaway and no cards to look for it. You have a 1 in 54 chance of pulling it. And that's if it's not prized. I say add one, and mabye take out a Celio's.

Dude, multiple Ceilios are what makes this deck consistant. Claydol could provide enough draw on its own that I don't need draw supporters at all. But if you have a magmar with 4 energy and you just need a magmortar to KO them and win, if you can't pull the magmortar, you lose. I get that you think that I need another castaway, and I might, but I'm considering going all out fishing engine and for that I wouldn't use castaway. I hear you though; I'm not saying castaway's some poop, I'm just saying I'm trying to get more oppinions about the trainer line/engine to use first.

take out the claydo for delcatty so Typhlosion can be that more effective and add in holon mentor and add in tv reporter to get cards in the discard pile that is my opinion.
