Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Magneboar, BDIF

Also, chris fullop admitted in the top cut stream that magneboar is bdif.

Ah, well if Chris said it then there's no need to even be having a debate. I guess everyone should just roll over and scoop when they face MagneBoar...

Decks have counters. Every deck does. There are always other decks in the format that can win, however, there is always one that sets up more consistantly or is more powerful or has better matchups versus everything else. Just because decks beat magneboar does not mean that it isn't the best deck in the format. It has a lot more good matchups that it does bad.

Not the BDIF. I think that once Catcher and all else gets released, it will 80% die. Right now it's just epicly hyped.

Magneboar is probably the BDIF once it sets up. However, its too slow, inconsistent and has a rough time against anything thats fast and disruptive, which is pretty much the entire format.

There are a few reasons I hesitate to call Magneboar the BDIF at this point:

2. It loses miserably to Tyranitar running Umbreon.

How does it lose to that AT ALL? The MAJORITY of magneboar decks play reshiram, at least 2. That eliminates umbreon as a threat entirely. Tyranitar goes down with a pluspower and 3 energy, so that's not a problem either.... Tyranitars will most likely be koed before they even get the 4 energy to do megaton tail, either due to reversals or to them trying to spread and getting OHKO'ed, which really isn't that hard. Not really seeing how it loses to that deck at all.

Magneboar is the BDIF!

Biggest Disappointment In Format.

I had to say it before someone else did. I couldn't help my self.

The deck is very good, and we will see what gets that title after US Nats and then Worlds.

People who make these threads are so annoying... seriously could you stop and wait till nats? Anyway... Magneboar is a VERY good deck but like most people have stated a BDIF is unclear at this time.

If you can fit pluspowers and reversals plus many Reshirams into Magneboar and still have it be consistent and fast enough to compete in a major tournament, I laud you. However, I think you are probably theorymoning without a list to go by, and are just coming up with counter cards without thinking of consistency whatsoever. Magneboar is a great deck, but it has to be a very streamlined and fast build to compete.

Actually Mr. Bidoof, I've played against his so called "slow" magneboar with reshiram, and I can tell you that his "theorymon" is 100% correct.

Why because it didnt win Canada States? oh I mean nats sorry the same size of the tourney had me confused...

...the results of Canadian nats have about as much say if say they had a BR before our states or regionals in a field like that ZPS and KYJ can do good but in a field of 1000+ good luck with that...

Azzona, you apparently failed to see the sarcasm or the last line of text of my post.

"KYJ" got top 4 in Masters at US Nats.

Yea, cause Canada didn't influence anything... :/ Thats why almost all the top 4 decks in Canada saw play at US nats. Hmm
