Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Magneboar Counter?

Obviously you play 1-0-1 Krookodile tech so you can Torment while you torment.

You do not think MagneBoar will be able to knock out a single Krookodile?

The point with Torment is to force Magnezone to switch out by playing a switch, or by burning 3 energies, just to get rid of the Torment effect.

Using Switch or retreating to kill it is not that big of a deal. MagneBoar should play at least one Fisherman anyways, as retrieving discarded energies is crucial to the deck. After the single Krookodile/Donphan/whatever is gone Magnezone can continue OHKOing pretty much everything.

In testing I have found that unless you are playing Donphan/Machamp once MagneBoar gets going there isn't much you can do. The best thing to do is to hope that the MagneBoar player gets a bad start. The deck also isn't as slow as people think. All they really need to set up is one Magnezone and then everything else seems to fall together.

As others as said, it's early game pressure.
Donphan is best at doing this since he one-shots Magnemite/Magnetone/Tepig for 1 energy.
If your deck isn't as fast, then you are pretty much done for.
The only thing I can think of that will help late-game is Bouffoulant (spelling?) for Revenging the RDL. You'd have to switch into a 0 Retreater and drop him with a DCE, because if you leave him on the bench, he will be an obvious target and will probably get Reversal'd.

u guys are all bad at this game magneboar cannot be countered by dumb reversals and fighting type pokemon haha u guys are just hilarious
