The sun comes up around 7 AM. It's best to get up around 6:30 and enjoy the sun slowly taking over the sky. I'm guessing the east side of Hood Canal has some pretty awesome views. Down in the South End, Mt Rainier glows in the early dawn, and it looks really cool. You should all get up early and check it out soon.

any chance you need judges? I'm getting rusty and I want to see if I can get in the prof cup this year.

Another thing, does it trouble anyone that this set is released right before BRs?

This is the same thing that they did last year when the held off the release of D&P until after regionals.
It seems that the powers that be do not want to shale up the metagame until the Spring, then they release a set that turns everything upside down. (remember last year how Infernape dominated Spring BR's everywhere.)

So if you do not like the big spring release, you should try to get used to it the best that you can because I think it will be the ways thing work out with set releases from now on.

It's not the new set that bothers me. It's the amount of time that we have to collect and secure cards for BRs before the tournaments start. I have no problem getting a new set, but getting one three days before the first battle road is disturbing in terms of how I'm going to be prepared in time. I'm a couple steps away from saying screw it and buying a few japanese boxes so I'm prepared in time.

If nintendo released the set at the end of month, instead of mid to late May, I wouldn't be concerned.

FWIW, when PUI set the schedule sometime in late 2006/early 2007, the plan was to have the prereleases a week earlier. Somewhere along the line, production got delayed, and the prereleases got pushed to their present weekends. Plus Nationals occurs earlier this year than it has in the past several, which means that Battle Roads have to be earlier, which means that they run into the traditional weekends for the prerelease. Trust me, PUI looks at the whole year when they plan out the event windows.

Anyone driving to a prerelease from North Seattle?

My grandson and I would like to go but we don't have a car :(

PM me if you've got room two more in your car.

The pre releases are less than two weeks away...This set looks great..(from the cards that have been revealed already)!!!!!!!!

Auugghh!! So many good cards, so many choices, this could be the best set since Dragon Frontiers, in terms of changes to the current Meatagame. PK gave us tech and support pokemon, DP gave up Infernape and Empoleon, MT gave us Blissey,
SW gave us Magmortar and G&G, and GE gave us well... still Magmortar and G&G.

But now we get, the Eveelutions, Legendary Brids, The original Fossil pokemon and The DP starter trio back. So many choices and so many possibilities, and so little time to prepare before Battle Roads.
One thing I know it that it is going to be fun putting these decks together.

You mixed up MT and SW.

I don't think this set will be all that revolutionary as people say, but I will say it will shake up the game immensely. The most obvious change is Eeveelutions, then the combos with Garchomp X are very nice, and the new Empoleon and Infernape will prolly shake up the format a little, but not too much. In the end, I see mostly just the addition of Eeveelutions and Garchomp prolly will be more mainstream.

So, at the Pheonix Games prerelease, it's $25 for 6 packs, then 2 after and a pack of sleeves? Meh, I liked it better when it was $20 for just plain 10 packs(last PR i went to was DS).

If anyone is going to the Pheonix Games prerelease, I will trade Magmortar X, Typhlosion(MT) and some Magmortar(SW, holo) for a Glaceon/Leafeon X if you think this is fair and manage to pull 1.
