Wow! You're right, every criminal ever charged should just suck it up and go to jail, right?

Give me a break! Due process! POP did sort it out with info from liars. It is up to the community to set things straight. I think it is becomming more and more clear with this post that there are a bunch of people who wanted Martin banned and did what it took to get him there. Furthermore, as the details of the night pan out it is becomming more and more clear that Martin did nothing wrong.

My last messege for the night. Here's a picture from my room that night. Here is a picture of me giving alcohol to Efrain and Nick

OH WAIT They arent there. Im with the 2005 World Champion!

Then do what due process requires you to and send you're emails to POP. Its no use to argue about it on here.

Alright, time to put in my claims. I'm from California and I have hung out with Martin, Dunford and a lot of people in California. I try to "stay cool" with everyone, but the current state of Pokemon in San Diego and Martin Moreno's reputation in this game really sadden me.

All Martin has ever done has been a friend to me. When I first met him at the 2004 San Diego Gym Challenge, we were playing the same deck. He proceeded to barely miss the cut, and before he left, he told me I should win and that I was the best player there. Martin has never shown me anything other than respect.

I've hung out with Martin on a few occasions, and even moreso at events. He's probably one of the most entertaining people in this game, always cracking jokes and providing an overall, fun time. Martin has a gift, he's very spontaneous and can think up nearly anything on the spot. His ability to react to each and every situation is why he's one of the game's best.

Now, some people think Martin is a bad person and should be banned apparently. He likes to have fun, ok he drank illegally, how many people can honestly say that they haven't done that in their lifetime? Martin knows when he needs to be sharp, he knows when to be serious. Maybe I can't speak for everyone, but I believe Martin is a great guy. He's gone through a lot, and he just keeps taking it, and moving on with his life.

Here are some things my friend Matt Dunford said about Martin, and honestly, Matt made me at times, think Martin was a bad person. He influenced me, and probably several others in SoCal. Nevertheless, Martin has remained cool with me at every event, and I am sorry if I ever felt anything negative toward him.

[17:39] ccaligamer: i like martin
[17:39] ccaligamer: hes always been cool to me
[17:39] Matt Dunford: thats when hes around you
[17:40] Matt Dunford: when hes not he makes jokes about your "trophy rack comment from like a year ago"
[17:40] ccaligamer: lol
[17:43] Matt Dunford: but at this point it would be so easy to get martin banned
[17:44] Matt Dunford: we have so much on him
[19:43] *** "Matt Dunford" signed off at Fri Apr 28 19:43:51 2006.

[18:40] ccaligamer: how about Martin going 0-3 drop
[18:40] ccaligamer: thoughts
[18:41] Matt Dunford: if anyone in this game deserved it, its him
[18:42] Matt Dunford: he talks $@*$ about everyone, including the people he calls friends, fakes his death to get attention, and has nothing in life going for him except pokemon but he cant even succeed at that
[18:42] Matt Dunford: those are my thoughs
[18:42] Matt Dunford: thoughts*

[19:57] ccaligamer: is he going to NorCal?
[19:58] Matt Dunford: i think he might, assuming martin stays alive to give him a ride up
[19:58] Matt Dunford: rofl
[19:59] Matt Dunford: cause like when i talk to martin on aim its like
[19:59] Matt Dunford: hey martin hows the family (kicked him out)
[19:59] Matt Dunford: hey martin hows your girlfriend (slept with a bisexual guy)
[20:00] Matt Dunford: hey martin i heard you beat your auto win in the finals at AZ (oh wait)

As you can see, people have it out for Martin Moreno. I don't talk to Nick Eskey much at all anymore, but from the general vibe I get from the boards and Martin's league, he doesn't want him around either. There's also other haters out there, I should know, I have haters too.

POP is making a big mistake if they ban our National Champion, Martin Moreno. He's one of the coolest and most down to earth guys I have ever met.

I was in the room with JK/Enno/Steve when the two thieves came in, Martin wasn't even in the room =(

He was with Kewley trying to find the girls. How can he offer alcohol to people when he's not even present in the ROOM?

Marijuana? Ecstasy? Are you guys serious? Yeah guys, let's bring ILLEGAL DRUGS TO A POKEMON TOURNAMENT. Yeah right. You think Martin's stupid enough to bring scheduled substances to a POKEMON tournament, and more importantly, offer it to people he doesn't even know? You have to take him for a complete idiot.

My timeline:
I show up with a bunch of people to Martin's room. We get word that girls are coming, and Martin asks everyone to leave. Everyone but Steve and John leave, and I go back to the room after forgetting something (martin and everyone else went the opposite direction, to the stairs, I went to the elevator, then back to get my phone). I saw that JK and SS were there and I'm good friends with both of them, so I sit down for a few minutes. The thieves come in, Martin's not even there, so we basically get them to leave since they weren't really wanted. They leave, and I leave shortly after.

That was the only time those two were in the room, because shortly after they did their robbing.

nobody saw/smelled/heard of those drugs being there.

I can't wait to have PUI sort this out. I have 100% confidence in them.

Pokemon TCG = Serious Business.

I'm quite confused with both sides of the story, but I think that this should not be discussed here, as it is an extremely sensitive issue. Let POP handle it, not the community. I am sure it would be easier talking about it over the phone to POP rather than posting it in text here, Martin. If you think they have still wronged you after talking to them for a while, then post here.

And as most people have been saying, Martin is a good guy. He may be arrogant and annoying at times :p, but he's good at heart.

And also, don't be stupid and bring alchohol or anything else to a Pokeman event. Use your heads. There's no place for it.

Why shouldn't Martin discuss it? He's banned for five years. Who knows if there is even going to BE an OP if five years! This is Martin's last shot to get the truth out in the open. Why does everyone seem to want the truth to be swept under the rug? Transparency is Martin's best friend right now, because when the truth is exposed, he's going to be the benefactor.

Martin is on here because he was not given an explanation. All he got was that he was banned. He found out on a Friday and posted his thoughts throughout the weekend. The community does have a say in this, it's a free country and I want to support him. If it's an email they want, fine. If they want to talk to me about, fine. I think we need more public opinion in this game anyway, isn't that what our society is all about?

I'd be REALLY mad if this ban sticks. I was really looking forward to hanging out with martin at this year's nationals. Such a cool guy. He didn't even do anything with those guys.

It would be reallllly messed up if Martin gets an equivalent or greater ban them people who stole so much. This'll all get sorted out. Martin didn't do anything wrong, so he'll be cleared.

I'm not flaming anyone (having nothing to do with this) and people can do whatever they want on their own time but I'm sure discussing about the National Champ drinking and/or other stuff during the Worlds weekend on the largest public Pokemon TCG forum is not seen in high regard by PUI and the image of the game or help Martin's case at all.

I don't see him giving anything to minors or doing anything that will get him busted by the DEA. Furthermore, that picture was taken Saturday night.

Why would you be taking a picture of him doing that? Did you pre-plan this or something? Sure, drinking vodka is illegal, but it seems like you are out for blood...

For your information I didn't take the picture. I got it from someone who hangs with Martin. If you want to stay blind Water Pokemon Master then fine. I'm through talking with ignorant people who don't want to know the whole story. I'll let POP make the decision. And I'm 100% sure they'll do the right thing.

You cropped it!

Nick Eskey, what a sad sad person you are trying to ban a great guy from the game he loves. The truth is he did nothing wrong and you should be ashamed of yourself as a TO and League Leader for your actions. I would think twice about posting anything else about this topic, sense you do NOT have any credible information to share. The truth is that Schutte and Efrain stole tons of cards and should be banned. The truth is Martin did nothing wrong and shouldn't be banned. The truth is that you have been trying to get Martin in trouble for some time, and that's sad, and downright PATHETIC!
