People who put no effort whatsoever into playing this game are winning trips, while those that try hardest are missing out? What is happening?

Maybe I should just not think of Pokemon for a week, then grab a random deck last minute at Seattle. Maybe then I'll beat everyone.

Practicing 2-3 hours a day sure doesn't seem to be working.:nonono:

I've put PLENTY of effort into playing this game - around 8 years now I believe. I've done the months and months of playtesting thing. I've done the big tourney scene. I know HOW to play competitively, I just haven't played LATELY due to college and the greater desire to judge when I do happen to have free time. I think saying I have put no effort into this game is not very fair, I just happened to put no effort into building the deck I used :p

And Ancient Pokemon Trainer's statement is correct - I'm surrounded by top notch players to keep me sharp! :-D

Nice job. Hope to see ya at worlds :D

Does that mean your actually gonna judge at worlds?

That's what I'd prefer to do, yea. I much prefer to judge rather than play, so as of now I'm planning on using my trip to show up as volunteer staff, which was why I wanted to win the trip in the first place

Oh no, I didn't me it quite like that. I wouldn't let them conceide, and theres no way I'd lose a friend over it.....I guess I had in my mind a image of someone who I gave a deck to, just cold hartedly playing you in the finals. You know, cutting your deck every time you shuffle, not letting you take back an energy attachment, saying your turn ended because you discarded your supporter.....This hasn't happend to me, it was just the image I had when I posted earlier....sorry for sounding like some grumpy person....

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Friends don't do that to friends. Especially friends like Michael and Matty. Michael would never expect Matty or anyone else to conceide just because they were playing with our deck. It's a game. Yeah, there's a lot on the line, but would you put a friendship on the line by being upset that your friend beat you out? It happens all the time. [PS: Gengar, a top teir deck? I love gengar and all...but I'll have to disagree, and save it for another topic discussion]

I don't mean to sound harsh, I just think that it would have been absurd to think that way.

Nah, it wasn't like that at all. Heck, I let people I DIDN'T know take back energy attachments and stuff if they asked. :p Our finals match was a lot of fun, it was like a regular ol' league battle!

Good to know.
I can't imagine Matty being cold hearted, lol. I hope no friends are like that.
Oh man, I HATE when people say my turn ended cause I discarded my supporter!

That is an amazing achievement! I look forward to having you with us on the event staff, Mega Murkrow. I hope you'll be able to join the Worlds team and help out at the event.
