If I lost zone a magnezone lv X and use his attack which specifically says I have to discard a number of energies attached to Magnezone, would I have to discard them from mew prime. Thank you.
 
Sure.

Its like you copy some chansey's attack that says "chansey does 80 dmg do itself" - here mew does 80 dmg to itself.

Its self-damaged-rule that says everything you have to done to this pokemon is apply to pokemon that uses this attack as it own.

But you cant evolve here like some magicarps does.
 
Basically what the above said, the self reference is applied to the Pokemon for damaging effect, but does not carry over for cards such as Mareep HS who count for how many "Mareep" you have in play. If Mew copied Mareep's attack it would still be looking for Mareeps.
 
Yes it does. Replace the name of the Pokémon ("Magnezone") with "this Pokémon" and see if it is clearer.
