i have a couple questions regarding the deck.

how does it work in general? i barely understand the basic concept so how do you set up and such?

would it be viable with ruling change?

sample lists would be greatly appreciated
thanks!

If I'm remembering this deck correctly, the idea is to use Mew Prime's See Off attack to put a Gyrados SF into the Lost Zone. From then on, every one of your Mew Primes are able to use Tail Revenge due to their Lost Link Poké-BODY. You get Magikarp into the discard pretty much the same way regular Gyrados decks manage it - Junk Arm, Regice, Volkner's Philosophy, and the like.

The advantages are that you only need to recycle a single basic, your damage cap is 120 instead of 90 since you don't need a Karp under your Gyrados, you don't need Broken Time-Space at all, and you can still function as a regular Gyrados deck in a pinch.

Your disadvantages are that Mew Prime only has 60 HP, so it needs both Snowpoint Temple and Expert Belt to have even a semblance of durability, Dialga G LV.X laughs at you, and you actually need a Psychic Energy to set up.

Post-Ruling change, MewDos is probably too slow because it needs to take at least two turns to set up, while its competitors are working on either instant setup or disruption. Especially post Black and White, where while you still need two turns of setup even in an ideal world, Zekrom can go off T1.

^Aye, that be correct.

MewDos is good. Plain and simple.
However, running MewDos with Mew as the main attacker just will not work, it detracts from everything the deck should be doing (discarding Magikarps and nabbing prizes before your opponent does, because Mew's HP will be a major disadvantage.
Gyarados must, in my opinion,be the main attacker in a Gyarados deck, but Mew Prime is really good as a tech - hitting for 120 when needed, and add on some modifiers and you know that is some powerful stuff.

Just play a normal Gyarados with 2 Mew, 2 Psychic Energy and 2 Cyrus' Conspiracy. That is what was played at the ECC, and it has worked for me this far.
You can alter the counts if you wish, but that line is all right.

i have a quick question about gyarados itself and since i have this thread already posted i feel like there is no need to post it in another. But:

lets say you played 4 smeargle instead of 4 sableye. would you have to run anything different or out of the ordinary? such as sages training

4 Smeargle is usually used in a trainerdos approach. However it would be good in getting T1 See off.

Mewdos Skeleton:

4-3 Gyara
2-4 Mew

1-2 Cyrus' Conspiracy

2-3 Psychic Energy

THe rest is pretty much the same, that you run ion a regular Dos.

i saw that on the dos article you posted the skeleton with sableye 2 crobat an unown dark and 2 special darks.

is it possible to play that with mewdos or no?

It is possible, but then you have quite alot of cards in your list.
I don't like it, but that's me, just try it if you like it ;D

How is mew as a tech gonna work? You have to see off before you can actually attack with it, and if you do that mid-game when the other guy is set up, he's a free prize and you fall behind in the prize swap.

A good/fast player's always going to get a free prize if you promote a mew....
However 2 Mew with 2 Psychic Energies is just fine, as you have no problem to get them and you shouldn't have any problem to consistently get them out.
