Mewtwo Counter besides Dialga G?

^ I think the point of this thread is counters for SP decks, bro. Most people who run Mewtwo don't run them to give a Gengar a free prize.

Anyways, on topic:

Ninetales MT - IMHO, this is probably the most useful of the lot. Seeing as how Mewtwo is a psychic type itself, Ninetales doesn't even have to waste its time looking for an opposing Psychic type to shift to and one shot it for only two energies. The problem is, you can only really play it in Fire based SP Decks (In which case even more fail is accrued, seeing as how Blaziken typically runs none/one basic fire, and Infernape thrives on it.)

Banette PT - I think this is the poor mans ninetales, as it takes quite a bit more effort to get that 70x2 damage onto Mewtwo, but its far more techable in most SP decks (especially toolboxes.) due to its more commonplace typing.

Lumineon SF - One not typically thought of, but seeing as how some decks (Ape 4/Garchomp C/Palkia G.) utilise their sniping ability to get around Mewtwo instead of running a direct counter, opponents will merely stop benching pokemon and wall with Mewtwo. Lumineon allows you to force cards out of their hand, which becomes even more amusing if you are capable of dragging a fat pokemon out and walling it while dragging additional pokemon out for you to snipe off. Of course, you need to be weary of Poketurns/SSU/Warp Point, but its not a bad idea, especially to get a free prize, and also fits a more awkward typing that Psychic and Fire cannot cover.

Mewtwo LX - See Ignatious' post.

I'd think the Bubble coat effect is on Mewtwo even if you decide to discard the card with Mismagius - the damage is calculated before effects take place. That's the logic behind using Expert Belt on Mismagius too, you'll get 40 with a single discard.

There's also Exeggutor LA if you are playing with a deck with some locking capability. Nullifying your opponent's hand and spraying/sniping their Claydols/Uxies just rocks. Of course, the Mewtwo counter in this case needs a few flips and discards your energies, but at least it can be utilized for other things than Mewtwo, too.

Also, if you're countering Mewtwo with Mewtwo without a real Mewtwo counter, you might run to some problems against deck that can actually take out your Mewtwo. An example of this is Ralts + Candy + Gardevoir PL which OHKOs your M2, and even if you OHKO it back, you're left with no Mewtwo and no way to damage theirs.

Q. If I use Mismagius' "Crash Chant" attack against a Defending Pokemon with the Bubble Coat tool attached to it, does the effect of Bubble Coat apply before I discard it or not?
A. The effect of Bubble Coat would not apply since it is being discarded before the damage calculation process has completed. (Sep 10, 2009 PUI Rules Team)

Depends largely of the type of deck you are playing. Mismagius SF is something that fits in well if you're playing SP with tools like Unown G, Q, Expert Belt, Energy Gain.

Remember that Mewtwo has a Mewtwo counter counter:

Bubble Coat.

you cant discard Unown G with mismagius, i think, I might be wrong.
