Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Mississippi Valley Regionals - St. Charles (St. Louis) Missouri January 19 and 20

Ryan, if you are on staff with the "hive" you are not going to have a chance to keep track of cameras on the floor.

PM me or call me and let's talk about what you want to do.

The Top Cut has been specifically invited and open for this, as they are not on staff, but have a tradition in this event. I think we were one of their first events...

And in this corner....ME!!!! HEAD JUDGE of ST LOUIS REGIONALS!!!

Players...Lets make this event as great as always!!

So far every year has been mostly drama free of major play problems!! Lets keep it that way...

I always LOVE judging this event!!!!

AND BRING FOOD FOR THE FOOD DRIVE!!!!!...STORES ARE REALLY CLOSE!!!

Wait what? I have never heard this before. They have never capped regionals to 32. If they did I might just mope in a corner.
Indiana Regionals in the Fall was caped to Top 32. We had over 300 Masters and should have had Top 64, but it was decided to cap it at top 32. It was a shame, really. Only like 2 6-3s made the cut.

I checked the VG section, but there wasn't a thread for the St. Charles event.

I got 6th in the recent Winter Battle Wifi Tournament so I have enough Championship Points for a first round bye at a Winter Regional VG tournament. I'm going to the St. Charles event. When I get to the event, what do I need to do to redeem these points for a bye? Can I just scribble down my Player ID Number? Must I have a printed out card? Do I have to bring ID, like a driver's license?

Thanks!

[edit]

Answered on their facebook page. We just need out player IDs. Thanks!

Anybody want to work out a trade in advance of the event? Unfortunately, I won't have time to work out trades at the event itself, working the entire weekend. But I'd at least like to try and get some more of my collection done before Plasma hits.

Here's what I've got...

Super Rares:
3 Computer Search
3 Gold Potion

1 Crystal Edge
2 FA Landorus EX
1 FA Tornadus regular

Anything else that's not Super Rare, just ask. I've got a ton of stuff floating around in my Trades boxes.

So you mean like make a trade and then meet up at the event?

Basically, yeah. I'll be easy enough to spot. Just look for the guy behind the computer with the Feraligatr hat on. I dislike trade-by-mail cuz I've been screwed by virtually every trade I've ever made by mail (except for once). So I only do in-person trades.

OK, the top cut at Regionals has been mandated at 32 for a few years now.

The issue usually has been that no division has jumped over a 256 to even have a 64 be considered.

Given the numbers we are expecting, it is better to know this up front than be surprised.

There will be a separate line for people who have (or think they have) first round byes at the VGC Regional in order to confirm the same.

I would prefer some form of ID be used for those cashing in byes. For younger players, I will trust your parents, I promise (no need to bring birth certificates).

As far as trading....please use the trade threads for these matters.

Note for staff - the MOMENT you step across that line and start working as staff, you are a member of the neutral staff. No lending cards, borrowing cards, or trading cards. I was down ill this weekend, but will be sending out shortly a list of info for the weekend - .

Easy one first - dress code for Judges is Khaki Pants / Shorts and Pokeon Judging Shirt (Red/Black) if you have one. For head judges - either bring your Professor coat or I will supply them.

For Staff - Khaki pants and ANY Pokemon shirt will work. I will have some fun ones to give out, but bring your own in case I run out. Ryan and Stephen - the hive, you can choose either dress code that you feel comfortable in.

More to follow!!!

I think top cut should be saved for day 2 or most of top cut saved for day 2 depending on the number of rounds.

Did I mention I'm going!

See everyone there :)

I would also like to stick around For VGC but that's up to the people I am going with.

I liked what we did in Indiana; play to top 16 day 1, and then do top 16 day 2.
