OK, Report from the Big Chair

Wow, what an EVENT!!!

With 158 total players, and a ton of great players in each age division, this really had more of a "Regionals" feel to the event...I can't wait for Regionals!!!

There were big top cuts in all divisions, with some players getting their first bite at the top cut, and that ROCKED!!!

The winners need to be appreciated...

Juniors

Sophie B. takes out all the competition in her first major tourney win!!! WOW! She knocked down some GREAT players on the way, but she made the right play on the right day! A PERFECT 9-0 day...Great job Sophie and to ALL the Juniors....you all rocked as a group. Any event where I can look down and see 2 of the best Missouri Players OUT of the cut...who always win events...just wow.

Seniors

Brian returns to the winners circle in a BIG WAY on his home turf (literally, I think he sleeps there some nights LOL). He rocked a great event, got through some very tough games, and ended up with the title.

Once again, there were some great players on the outside of the cut looking in...players you expect to see at the finals tables watching from the sidelines.

Masters

OK, you tell a guy he gets a custom pizza and he comes down from Kentucky and wins your event. Great job Jayson. I am glad SOME of us play your deck with the same techs!!!

You PM a group from Minnesota, and they sneak on down, and finish 2nd in 2 divisions! With my friends who came in from Texas taking 2nd in the other division.

I was extremely proud of the event all day. Even with a 1 hour "PRINTER" delay, everyone was really good and patient all day long. Free Pizza helped I am sure.

We finished swiss rounds by 5:30/6:30, and got the juniors and seniors done and out by 10:00, and masters done by 11:30. This is with a lunch AND dinner break.

To my staff, THANK YOU ALL. Above, beyond, working as a team....it is what a staff should be.

I will be giving each of you individual feedback over the next few weeks, but needless to say you are ALL being invited onto the Regionals Staff!

Mike (Ditto) - welcome to the HJ chair my friend, I hoped you like the feel of it, because you will be iin it a LOT more for me in the coming few years! You made some tough calls, and made them well. Not everyone is going to be happy with every call, but I feel you really handled the day well. Congrats.

Man, I am now really geared up for REGIONALS and expect a lot of updates over the next few weeks as we gear up for the party.

It will be a BIG PARTY.

8000 square feet. That is over twice the size of the room today. We will have the room to spread and grow. South County Mall (READ STARBUCKS RACHEL)

So much is in the works already. I am so excited. Usually I leave one of these events tired, and I am tired...but I am so geared and re-energized that BAM...this is going to continue to Rock!!!

Talk to you all soon....

Taking a nap.

Vince

Vince,
Once again it was a great success even with all of the "technical issues" in the beginning. I was elated to be a part of your team and I am extremely excited to be a part of Regionals. Everytime we come to St. Louis we can always be sure of one thing...it will be done right and will be above and beyond all expectations. To a great host...CHEERS! To all the winners, congratulations! One month to go until Regionals!! See you there!
