Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Modified Set Question...

Hello everyone, I just started playing the pokemon-tcg !!

* still learning what is legal in the Modifed Set and all *

When I play the TCG...I always seem to lose to status conditions.

So my question is are there any pokemon, in the Modified Set, that can negate or heal status conditions ?

Thanks in advance...still working on build a deck that works for me ^_^"

Audino BCE is a hard counter to status effects, but it's only useful in certain decks (e. g. Plasma Flareon or maybe Plasma Weavile).

Your best bet is Keldeo ex + Float Stone. Rush In + retreating is an excellent strategy, period.

Many ways to deal with...

Virizion EX
Evolving (if it does evolve)

Keldo EX + Float Stone is my favourite way to go.

I tried to determine early in the game if I will need to deal with status conditions coming into play all the time (Lasers, Virbank, etc...), then play accordingly. Someone pokemons will need to die to setup another... the way it is.

Thanks for the Audino tip...i'll try and pick up a few to add to my deck.

Everyone uses Keldeo and Darkrai decks, at my locals >_<"

* i'll pass on that *

But, out side of Audino, are there no pokemon that can negate or recover from status conditions ?

As mentioned, the Basic Pokemon Virizion-EX prevents Special Conditions on any of your Pokemon, so long as they have :grass:providing Energy (Basic or Special) attached to them. In addition, Espeon can prevent any effects of attacks, excluding damage, done to your Pokemon with any Energy attached to them, at the cost of being a Stage 1 Evolution. The latter will not protect you from things such as Hypnotoxic Laser, however, as it is not the effect of an attack.

You can also play Trainers like Escape Rope or Switch in order to move your active Poke back to the bench - this action removes all status conditions too.

There are several types of Potions (Trainers) that can be used to heal (i.e., remove) damage from your wounded Poke. Poke like Swanna or Vaporeon can also heal your wounded Poke as an effect of their respective attacks.

Wow...I did not even know about these cards ^_^"

* this really helps me out *

I'll try to find a Virizion-EX...though it seems to be a tricky card to acquire.

The Espeon also seems nice, but it is unfortunate that it can not protect against Hypnotoxic Laser.

Swanna and Vaporeon are good cards; however, healing has never been a factor when I play.

* usually my opponent's attack does way more than my max HP every turn *

Hmm...I may need to collect a few more cards ?

I seem to be a bit unlucky, when opening packs.

There are lots of switches in theme decks if you wanted guaranteed ones. Virizion ex is in plasma blast packs. Keldeo ex has a tin which gives you the card and 4 boosters. Im not sure which packs float stone are in

Okay, i'll look into "switching" cards as well.

Though I may have to collect some "EX" pokemon to be able to survive an attack.

* none of my pokemon have over 120 HP *

^ An easy place to get EX Pokemon is in tins. Many good EX's (e. g. Lugia, Deoxys, Thundurus, even Mewtwo, Keldeo, and Darkrai) can be found in tins. The 4 packs that come bundled with the tin and the EX card are just icing on the cake.
