Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Mountain West Regional Championship, April 16, 2011

Also, due to the event location, while it will be possible for limited travel to get food, we have decided that it would be a nice gesture and that we will be providing pizza for lunch for all players on site!

Awesome, that's great Simba! I know I didn't make it to dinner during top cut at states because it really is tough to travel to get food if your games go long, so free lunch is awesome!

>>> IMPORTANT UPDATE <<<

Just a note to all players, there is a marathon that will be running this Saturday. Their starting point is at the Legacy Bridge, which is just down the street from where we will be holding Regionals. The marathon's starting time is at 7:00am. This will only interfere with those trying to get there early, hopefully. Registration is still at 8:30am so we should be good, but thought you'd all like to know in case you're an early bird.

To add to Simba's above statement:

"University trains will not run from Salt Lake Central station to Library station between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Passengers headed to the University of Utah should ride the Sandy TRAX to Court House station and walk to Library station. For passengers unable to walk, accessible bus service will be available."

So those of us who rely on the train most of the time..... Get up early. XD

>>> Side Event Update <<<

There will be a DS Black and White Side Event at Regionals after top cuts are announced. The following rules will be used:

1. 5th Generation Pokemon only (no previous generations, only those found in Black and White)
2. Level 50 max
3. 4 Pokemon to a party
4. Single Elimination
5. Pokemon will be checked for hacks (legal Pokemon and legal move sets only)

There will also be 8-person pods for the TCG.

Both tournaments will be hosted once top cuts have begun. There will be limited prize support for both the DS and TCG side events. Cost for either is FREE!

The 8-person tournaments during top cut are a really great idea!

Of course, I plan on making Top Cut, so I won't play in them, but still :D

Looks like a great event! Have fun and good luck to everyone! Loved being with y'all last year - see you at Nats!

>>> Correction <<<

Registraion time is 8:30am, NOT 8:00am

This was missed somehow when the post was initially made. I will be sending out the correction to our mailing list. Sorry we didn't catch it sooner.

A couple of clarifications for the DS event:

It doesn't matter what level your Pokemon are on. We will be playing in a way that automatically pulls your Pokemon's levels to 50. So don't stress if your Pokemon is on 45, and you can use something on 100, too.

Because of the way we're playing, every player has to have the C-Gear, which you get shortly after the first Gym. So if you haven't gotten the C-Gear, you can't play.

Anyone know where Idaho is? We haven't heard or seen any if them and they were supposed to be here this evening. A little worried.
