Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Moved back to IL

GraysLake... That's in the NW Suburbs area, right?

I know of 2 leagues in the Crystal Lake area, one by Woodfield Mall, and one by the I-55 and I-294 interchange. But, up in the Gurnee area, I'm not so sure about. Check the Leagues page on http://www.go-pokemon.com/op to see if there's anything up there. Searching for Illinois is probably your best option, as there are only a couple of pages of Illinois leagues...

I had already tried that and there are none in my area.

I need to start a league in this area. But I have no idea where to put it.

Two kinds of places have generally worked out well for Leagues.

1. Card shops. These are generally good because they will have the product that they're looking to get rid of, so they'd probably welcome the idea of players in their area.

2. Libraries or community centers. A nice, quiet area where parents will feel safe with their kids for an hour or so.

Wherever you set up League, make sure that your League times are consistent week to week. If you're a competitive player, don't put your Leagues on weekends, because you'll end up canceling half of the sessions, then the players won't want to come back.

Anything else, there's always the League guide at the top of this forum.

You are always welcome to attend our weekly league and tournaments.

Do you think it would be possible to start something at the College of Lake County?

You never know. I've seen successful Leagues being run out of WalMart McDonald's and local libraries. I'm actually thinking of running one through UofI. If you can get the permissions, then you can run it.

I should also try Dreamland comics in Libertyville.

That'll probably work too! Just make sure there's a decent enough space for it.
