big fan of the comics.

here's a couple of lists to try out. the deck you posted seems a little unfocused. it seems like you might be trying to do too many things. if you can center your strategy around one main pokemon line with another line for backup, you will usually be pretty successful.

4 sneasel dp3
3 weavile dp3
1 weavile dp1
3 larvitar
2 pupitar
3 tyranitar mt (16)

4 master ball
3 celio's network
3 rare candy
2 holon mentor
3 steven's
3 galactic's wager
1 copycat
2 castaway
3 buffer piece OR cessation crystal
3 pluspower
2 warp point

3 special dark
8 basic dark
4 dre

this focuses on powering up tyranitar quickly with weavile and hitting for big damage. with 140 hp, t-tar is a BEAST to bring down, and doing 80-120 a turn helps a lot too. i just typed this up and i feel like i left something important out of the list, so don't shoot me if it's not perfect, but this is something you can work with.

if you decide you like honchkrow better, i'd wait until the lv x comes out in the next set before basing a deck around it. i LOVE honchkrow, but the metagame right now doesn't! when secret wonders comes out, the lv x might just be the trump card you need to have the advantage over other decks in the format.

feel free to pm me for more help!

I've thought a lot about Krow decks. Swarm style deck that could use a bit of colored TecH but is otherwise very fast and very powerful. I'm still trying to find a good secondary attacker for Krow. Weavile seems to be the popular choice right now, mostly because it can take advantage of the Double Rainbows that you need on your Honchkrows in order to quickly power up Murkrow. Still, I wouldn't run more than a 2-2 on Weavile because it is more of a backup attacker, not really integral to the deck's strategy.

Even after that discussion about Weavile, there are other reasons that I'd want to run straight Honchkrow. I'll build a ROUGH decklist to illustrate what I'm talking about:

Pokemon (7):
4 Murkrow
3 Honchkrow

Trainers (40):
4 Quick Ball (UBER in single evolution decks)
4 Dual/Great Ball (non-Supporter search)
4 Team Galactic's Wager (Disruption)
4 Time Space Distortion or Night Maintenance (Recovery)
4 TV Reporter or Bill's Maintenance (good straight draw)
3 Steven's Advice (good straight draw with restrictions)
4 ER2 (Disruption)
3 Warp Point
4 Windstorm (Cessation Crystal will pwn you)
3 Castaway or Scott combination (Castaway if you're getting Energy screwed, Scott for better speed)
3 Island Hermit (I <3 this card)

Energy (13):
4 Double Rainbow
3 Scramble
4 Darkness Special
2 Darkness Basic

Quick Ball is AMAZING when played in a deck with only a single evolution line. This is the main reason why I would try building this kind of deck straight Honchkrow. Everything else here is just to get to Honchkrow and his Energy faster. A multitude of deck thinners helps in that regard. The ER2s are to keep up some sort of lockdown. I'm still trying to figure out a win condition for this deck, because, while it's very fast, it probably won't hold up in the middle and later stages of the game. The disruption part of Honchkrow's attack helps, but it might not be enough. Still, it's quick and very easy to make some nice comebacks with little to no energy on the field, especially with Scramble running around in there.

Something else I just thought of, to try and build off the Disruption theme that this deck seems to love, is Ambipom. 2 energy for either 80 damage or your opponent discards 2 cards. Again, like Weavile discussed above, I wouldn't run it more than 2-2, because Krow is your main strategy. Ambipom is more of an addition or a side strategy to this deck...

Ever since people started talking about a Honchkrow lv. x I've been curious about what its attacks are since I own 2 regular Honchkrows already. I can't find a translation though.

If you were to drop the Tyranitar line, I might consider running a ball engine. Quick ball is great in stage 1 decks and it isn't a supporter. Great ball also helps to get your basics out without the drawback of Holon Mentor, but I'd still run one or two of those since getting Murkrow out is important, and it does the job of 3 Great Balls. My concern about Honchkrow was always its power later in the game. I'm not sure what this new Weavle does. I'm totally for hand disruption though, so I'd run Team Galactic's Wager in there and possibly Team Galactic's Mars once it comes out of the next set.

im using a 4-3-1 krows
1 umbreon
2-2 ambipom +(this is great especially when u use tgw and umbreon star maybe with some super scoop ups aswell)
3 sablye cg just to try to screw some decks over especially blissey and electivire

How can you do that?????
NO ONE knows what the Honchcrow LV. X does, and no one includes you.

So please enlighten me, how can you use 4-3-1?

i didn't add the 4th special dark because i wanted 8 attachable with weavile and 4 dre. i only had 3 spots for special dark.

I'm pretty sure that Weavile SW can fetch Special Darkness. Shadow Charge says "Search your deck for up to 2 :dark: Energy cards and attach them to your Pokémon in anyway you like. Shuffle your deck afterwards."

I could be wrong though.

Hi Gabe, big fan of the comic. The stuff you did about competetive D/P battles was pretty boss.

Here's something I think might work after Secret Wonders comes out next week:

4 Absol (Secret Wonders)
4 Murkrow
3 Honchkrow
1 Honchkrow Lvl.X (Assuming it's good!)
1 Umbreon *
:17

4 Fastball
4 Team Galactic’s Mars (Secret Wonders)
3 Team Galactic's Wager
2 Castaway
2 Celio's Network
1 Hamana's Research (Secret Wonders)
1 Steven's Advice
1 Holon Mentor
4 Pluspower
2 Strength Charm
3 Windstorm
1 Time-Space Distortion
4 Super Scoop Up
:28

4 Darkness Energy (Special)
7 Darkness Energy (Basic)
4 Double Rainbow Energy
:15

Absol L.31 – Darkness – HP70
Basic Pokemon

[C] Wind of Misfortune: Discard 1 card from your opponent’s hand without looking. If the discarded card is any type of Trainer Card, discard 1 more card.
[D] Raid: 10 damage. On the turn this Absol is put into play from your hand, this attack does 40 damage. (If it is put into play during the game’s setup, ignore this effect).

Weakness: Fighting (+20)
Resistance: Psychic (-20)
Retreat: 1

Team Galactic’s Mars – Supporter

Draw 2 cards. Then, without looking, choose 1 card from your opponent’s hand, and put it on the bottom of your opponent’s deck.

Hamana’s Research – Supporter

Search your deck for up to 2 in any combination of Basic Pokemon cards and Basic Energy cards, show them to your opponent, and put them in your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.

Basically you'll be disrupting their hand with Absol, Mars, Honchkrow, Wager and Umbreon *. And with Pluspowers, Strength Charms and Darkness Energy, you'll be able to hit pretty quickly as well. The beauty of the deck is energy/retreat costs are so low, and you can save your attackers with Super Scoop Ups.

Until that set is released though, good luck with the deck, and welcome to the Gym!

^^^^
What about Umbreon* that makes it so good?

Anyway, Weavile SW has been mentioned multiple times, so has Honchkrow X, lessee...

I think this deck is moderately fast. I don't really have much to say, since I'm not too good at patching decks.

Welcome to the forums!

IMO u dont need weavile because its first attack to excelerate energy isnt needed if u use a starter like sablye cg or chingling because u can power a honch up easy and it second attack most likely ur oppenet wont have much more than 6 cards because of TGW and galactics mars aswell as honchys attack and umbreon star i much prefer ambipom over weavile

Um, guys, it doesn't really help that some of these cards haven't been released yet, nor have they been confirmed by pokebeach as being in the next set in the first place.

Big fan of the comics, too. PAX is the best gaming convention I've ever been to (it's also the only gaming convention I go to, but meh).

um yeah they have weavile has been a preview honchkrow has been confirmed to be a lv x and team galactics mars was also previewed

Either way, the deck has a big case of "mario" syndrome. That will be discussed in an upcoming article by desert eagle. Watch for it =D

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man to fish, feed him for the rest of his life.

Invest in Secret Wonders Gabe! There's suppossed to be a Honchkrow Lv. X in that set, don't know what it is yet but Murkrow will be able to use its attack all the same! :D

Try go-pokemon.com and find a nearby prerelease to nab some for a bargain.

Ah, and the deck itself.

Keep Dugtrio and make sure you have max windstorm for cessation
