My First League

Tonight, I went to Crawley, to play some pokemanz.
I gotta tell you, I was hella nervous  I'm not good with the whole "meeting new people" thing.

But anyways, off down the motorway I trundled, in my orange camper van, only to fail miserably at reading my own directions, coming off a whole junction early, and ending up on the wrong side of the town.
Honestly... Junction 10a? It should be 11!

Eventually, I made it to the right place, thanks to my trusty A-Z.
I scurried in, clutching my card-bag, and I met Ian and the gang  Everyone was really nice, very welcoming to a Surrey stranger. Immediately, I signed up for my POP ID (which reminds me... I need to add that on g-p.com), and settled straight in to playing the younger Ian, the only other player my age.
First off, he used his Darkrai deck, and I used my rather hodge-podge version of Skittles.

Victory!

I gotta say, though, Ian did give me a couple of tips when I made (very) stupid mistakes
It was definitely more of a learning curve, than full on card combat.

Next, though, he whipped out a 'Chomp deck. Thanks to some lucky (from my perspective) prize-trapped cards, and more help, I scored another win.
The final match of the evening, though, was a turn for the worse, with me being mercilessly flogged to death by three powered up 'chomps. T'was a sobering experience

Before we parted ways, I bought myself some boosters, and a proper deck box (until then, I was using a floppy disk box xD).
I must say, my best pull was an excellent end to a very fun evening ^_^

Thanks Ian! I'll see you next week

Um...Discuss first league experiences, and such!
