I really like the layout of this deck to keep constant burns on as many pokemon as possible. One of the reasons I chose this deck was to play against the upcoming Gengar deck. To avoid the possibility of being knocked out after knocking out gengar, i plan to do 80 damage the regular way, and then put the burn on them for the last 30. Still working out some of the bugs, but the deck seems to setup really fast. I also had the two Leafeon Lv. X in there for awhile, but it was just too much

like idea of using Torrent Wave w/ Heatran effect ... nice.... Don't like the pokeball though... flips miss...

The flips do miss, however the thing I do like is that I have a 50% chance of getting the pokemon I want, and if i do not get it, it thins through the deck so that when I use Claydol, I have a slightly better chance of getting the cards that I do want. Who knows, I may pull them out and put in a couple of basics that have a burn effect. Anybody know of basics that can burn other than Torchic? Additionally, the Unown G are to attach to either Claydol, or Heatran Lv. X so that Gengar cannot touch them

How does this fair against Kingdra??? You may want to use POP 8 Heatran, his weakness to water is less than x2, I believe it is only +30

Pokeball? Use Premier. Pokeball takes a chance and since you run 3 X i would run at least 2 - 3 Premier ball. Other wise a pretty good strategie.

mr. gineriac - I have not played against Kingdra yet, but I think I will get slaughtered. However, I am thinking that not that many people are going to play Kingdra

I will check out the pop 8 heatran.....although, I have not used heatran to fight yet...only using his power to keep the burn on.

mostly, I am playing this against those that play the gengar/dusknoir mix and it has done well so far....

I will test it some more tomorrow at league and see what happens.

take out the speed stadium for stark mountain because then you could attatch to a magmortar with damage and stark it to a different magmortar. and you should find some room for 4 pokehealer

I would also hate to go up against a quick Luxray deck with your heatran lv x on the bench powering up all of his attacks, OUCH!!!!

I would also add in some premier balls instead of pokeballs, you need to get the x's as fast as possible plus you can dig magmortar lv x out of the discard with one.

How did the league testing go??? isit a viable deck for cities

I went undefeated today in league..

these are the changes I made before going in

-3 pokeball
-2 heatran LA

+2 heatran pop8
+2 premier balls
+1 Cynthias Feelings

I tried the stark mountain , but prefer the speed stadium. I like to draw...lots and lots and lots of cards so this helps.

It is definitely viable for cities, but I want to play against more of the mainstream decks to give it a good testing...maybe tomorrow?

I then came home and played my luxray deck again which I absolutely love right now...

The 2-1-2 Magnezone (lightning from SF) line makes it just a beast once its powered up

take out the 3 poke ball put in 3 quick ball take out the great ball put in 3 plus power and put in 2 multi energy just in case u have to bring claydol up as ur active

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

take 2 of the call for the multi

The pokeballs are out and replaced with 2 premier balls and 1 Cynthias Feelings

I also experimented some more with Stark Mountain and found that it helps if I get the random Heatran start. I can then still attach an energy per turn, then transfer to Magmar the following round. I am still not sure if its worth it to keep that there for that reason or not. I mainly wanted to have 2 stadiums in all my decks to use as counters and this vs. speed seems to be the only question I have now.

As far as the multi, I feel as if I have to attack with Claydol, there is not much hope left anyhow! I will give it a try to see how it works though

this relay might not be a good deck to play right now with how big kingdra is and how kingdra can get a constant turn 1

My thoughts with this deck is to see how things go at the first cities...if there is a lot of people playing gengar/dusknoir then I should be fine...if there are lots of other decks still then I will probably play my Luxray deck

The Problem with the deck is Energy Acceleration. It'll take
3-4 turns to power up a Magmortar manually before you are able
to use Heatran's Power. And what then, how you gonna get energy
back into play other than from your Hand once they KO your active?
Any sort of Speed Deck will kill this deck. I just tryed it out btw. I
say the only chance you have is to put Rayquaza in and Change your
Stadiums to Stark Mountain. Also maybe use some Energy Pickups
as well.
