Well, it was an exciting end to my first season. I decided to play luxape because it had a lot of good matchups. I had to grind in, so I got there early and registered. I met some people and hung out, then the first pairings were up.
Round 1 Vs. Lillie? (From Oregon)
She was playing blastcatty, so I was pretty happy I threw in that lucario GL. I got T2 luxray and just ran threw everything. She was nice, so that was cool. Felt good to get off to a good start to the day.

OK between rounds (at least for me) there was something burning in the kitchen and it set off the fire alarm. We all had to evacuate. That. Was. Hilarious. 1000 people evacuating on the fourth floor of a hotel. lolz. We didn't go far before someone said it was OK to come back though.
Round 2 Vs. Bradley (Also from San Diego)
So I'd been talking to him about worlds for a while now, so it was VERY weird we got paired so early. He played luxape. I fire spinned a lot, and that's one of the best ways to go in the mirror. I played rayquaza stark, which helped me a lot too. I was one step ahead of him the whole time, and I ended up winning on time. GG.

So between rounds I met Paul Atassonov (or however you spell it) Dude's hilarious, fun to hang out with. Apparently he wrote his 2nd place blissey list at 6 AM the morning of worlds.
Round 3 Vs. Glenn (From Belgium)
He got a total GOD start with rampardos, and I had an awful hand. By the time I got setup it was too late. Glenn turned out to be a really good friend though, and I talked to him a lot the next 2 days. If you're reading this Glenn you better be in Kona, it'll be more fun that way.

Round 4 Vs. Sammy (From California)
So Sammy went to SoCal Regionals, but I didn't see him there. He was playing G Toolbox. He was really cool and fun to play against, just kinda layed back and just having fun with the game. I had another awful hand, so he took the first 2 prizes. But once I got setup I was able to take the game. GG Sammy, I'll probably see you somewhere next season!

Round 5 Vs. Tad (from... i don't remember)
Tad played a flygon gengar deck. He got a really bad start, and I just rolled with Luxray Lv. X. By the time he setup I already had the game. I don't feel bad beating him though, because he made it into worlds.

Round 6 Vs. Spencer (from Ohio)
So Spencer was playing Speedrill, and he was pretty chill. He got a perfect hand, and I got an OK one. In the end those bees were just too powerful and I lost. GG, Spencer. Him being 7-1 really boosted my tiebreakers in the end though.

Round 7 Vs. Demitri (From Northern California)
He played Flygon/Nidoqueen, and I got a total crap hand and he took the gme easily. We had a lot of fun during the match though, made a lot of jokes and stuff. Even though i lost I still had a lot of fun.

Round 8 Vs. Jason (From Northern California)
So I knew if I won this round I was in. Jason had made it into worlds like 4 years in a row, and I was somewhat scared. I got an awful hand, and he took the first couple prizes. During the start of my turn, I knew if I didn't get a cyrus I would lose. So I started singing Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer. I drew a cyrus. Bon Jovi, you have saved my life. I started to make a come back. So I got it down to me having 3 prizes and him having 2. I KO'ed something with high jump kick, so it was 2-2. He knocked out something with shadow room. I continued to knock something out with fire spin by using roar to move the gengar. So it was 1-1. He poltergiesed or whatever, but it wans't enough. I starked some stuff from my rayquaza, and I knew I could fire spin then crobat the next turn. But i had an azelf LA without unown g , and if he got a crobat g (which I knew he played) then he could win. I knew I couldn't give him that chance. So I flash bited the gengar THEN fire-spinned. He needed a flip to get into sudden death... and he got heads. This is getting epic. But in sudden death I got T2 luxray Lv. X. Moment kill much?

So I end up being the 2nd alternate. I'll update with my 2nd day report once i'm not so tired.
So, I got there next morning to see if I was in. I met up with the other 3 alternates and they seemed positive that all of us were in. So, after a while they called up the 4 replacements. They only let the first 2 in. I kinda freaked, but at least I got in. So I got my Bag thing and sat down opening packs while they put up the roster. I got 3 lv. x's: a spanish azelf, a japanese staraptor FB, and an english alakazam 4. Not too shabby. The opening ceremony was kinda cool with the HG/SS commercial, but the 2 people running it on the stage were totally WAY too kiddy. I don't think they get the concept that masters is the biggest division. So yeah. On to the tourny.

I got an ok start, but he drew into EVERYTHING he needed. I made it into a close game, but he ran 3 energy getter magnezone and 3 night maintenance so he could get a new magnezone VERY EASY. In the end the prizes were 1-1 on time, but he won.

He played Mother Gengar. He got a decent hand, but mine just sucks. He got T2 mewtwo lv. x and stalled me out basically. I luxrayed some stuff, but that was all I could do. GG.

Round 3 Vs. Remo (Switzerland National Champion)
So Remo was cool, so this game was pretty fun. We both got OK starts, but the fact that I played starkquaza helped me fire spin more which like I said wins me the mirror. I won very easily, GG Remo.

Round 4 Vs. Eleki (Rating Invite, Oregon)
Eleki was playing Gallade 4 with mewtwo tech, which annoyed the crap outta me. By the time I had ways of getting my vulpix it was too late. God I hate mewtwo

He was playing Glaceon/Flygon. He got that glaceon FAST, and i had no cyrus which I really needed in this matchup. He won pretty fast. GG.

Round 6 Vs. Stuart (2nd at Australian Nationals)
We both pretty much knew we were out, so it wasn't a very serious game. The WHOLE TIME we just made jokes and had a lot of fun. He played Luxray/Palkia but all he could get was palkias, so I luxray'ed threw them.

We both got total crap hands, but he got a better crap hand. lol.

So, I did pretty well I guess. I wasn't comfortable AT ALL with luxape, but I thought it was a good deck so I played it. Wish I hadn't. Well, it was a really fun experience, and i really hope I can be in Kona next year. Overall for my first season, things have changed so much. I went into my first tourny with an awful rhyperior deck i had never even played. Now I'm grinding into worlds. For all the people who got me here, thanks. Biggest thanks goes to stevo, for always being supportive, My Dad, for driving me to so many events, and, of course, the gym itself. I didn't think a claydol was worth 5 cents untill I came here. Thanks for everything.
