It's not really a skill deck so plenty of people can take it far. So I see your point there a little, but I think the top decks generally have a 50-50 matchup against each other. Coin flips are so important that it's difficult to tell.

My Yanmega dilemma...!

It's not really a skill deck so plenty of people can take it far. So I see your point there a little, but I think the top decks generally have a 50-50 matchup against each other. Coin flips are so important that it's difficult to tell.
From everything I've heard, the deck that won Canada didn't run Yanmega....though, I'm not 100% on this as I wasn't there.
And, you aren't really taking the meta game into account. Yanmega is steamrolling right now, which makes donphan a pretty bad play, especially paired with the fact that Kingdra has seen a lot of play and one pretty well. Just about anything OHKO's Zekrom, so its weakness is moot. Donphan 3HKO's Magnezone while getting OHKO'ed in return, so it really has no place as a deck, only as a tech. Zekrom can handle one Donphan. Just about everything else in the format is easy enough to KO by other attackers and while Donphan does set up quick, it doesn't have a high damage output and damages its own bench. I'm not saying its horrible, I'm saying you can get away with not teching against it.

Donphan is still a great play, especially when partnered with Yanmega and/or Zoroark.
How is Donphan 3-shotting Magnezone? In my playtesting I've never failed to one-hit it with a PlusPower. (Weakness.....) Zone has to LZ 4 energy or 3 with PlusPower; not exactly an ideal position for it to be in. Helps if you actually know the cards you're talking about lol.
Also Zekrom is usually run with Defender so it's fairly hard to KO.
Kingdra rarely sees play as an attacker and it's only seen with Yanmega. If I was running Kingdra/Yanmega I'd never choose to attack with Kingdra over Yanmega.

However I don´t think that Zekrom is the best deck without Yanmega out there ATM. IMO it´s too inconsistant with Zekrom hurting himself whenever he attacks.
I think Reshiphlosion is the way to go. It´s fast and has high damage output. Emerging Powers seems to become a stumbling block with Beartic, but in the meantime we can´t know if it will break on it.
