I mean for pokemon Ruby, do u insert the link cable
to 2 or 4 GBA???

E-card series that scans through E-card reader.
The Cards in each Ruby and Sapphire (US) version can be scanned to get a new opponent with 3 Poké each.
Or the recieving or scanning of the Eon Ticket Card can be considered one.
I dunno anymore but there were 3 series of cards released by TPC, which is used to unlock berries and some opponents for RS.
For colloseum, Japanese version did some opponents cards (i'm not quite certain of)
As for Emerald, there are some E plus cards. Which should be available for the US version.
