is there any stratagy to getting the right nature and personality that does not take weeks to do? Sure, breeding and hatching hundreds of eggs-. IS there a pattern for encouraging the personality to be the one you want on a hatched egg? female holds everstone, say adament with alert to sounds, but you want adament/ likes to thrash about? can the personality be influenced by the male?

There sure is a predictable way to get natures and IV's desired. Natures and IV's are generated using a pseudo random number generator, or PRNG for short. A simple google search for "Pokemon PRNG" should get you all the info you need.

Now, i am telling you it is can be pretty technical, but by abusing the PRNG i got some pretty awesome pokemon.

A quick overview, assuming you don't use the above technique:

Female holding the everstone results in 50/50 chance for your correct nature. This doesn't work if you breed using Pokemon from another country - for example, a Japanese Ditto doesn't work with an Everstone, but it is supposed to improve your chances of breeding a shiny Pokemon.

As far as the right personality - you're getting 3 IVs from the parents. The chance of getting the exact one is low, but keep in mind that the personality isn't one specific number - it could be several different numbers. (Alert to sounds doesn't always equal another Alert to sounds.) You're best off breeding 5-10 Adamant ones, and then checking their IVs with Rare Candies & an online tool that can calculate IVs. (Don't save your game, you can resuse your Rare Candies.)

so, is there a "guide" that shows the order of how to get the right personality-
example: adament, alert to sounds- adament, prowed of its power -adament, likes to thrash about ect...
for egg hatching order? or parent nat/per that will influence the nat/per in order? or is it still pataints and tons of eggs?

Said above post.
PRNG is your best bet.
Look for that.
If you can not do that then breed, breed, and breed.

I don't worry about personality - it's more about the IVs (personality only represents the Pokemon's highest stat, and not very accurately...all it promises is that a specific stat is the highest [or tied for the highest] one - not how high.)

As an example, "Alert to sounds" could be 1, 6, 11, 16, 21, 26, or 31 for Speed. (Being a 1 would be pretty hard - it would mean that every other stat would have to be 1 as well.)

In short - for natures (and simple purposes), you will want the female parent with the nature you want to be holding an Everstone. That should give you a 50/50 chance at getting the mother's nature on the hatched Pokemon, which is what you want. Don't worry about personalities.

If you do care about peronsalities, technically one good way to do it is to use parents who have the personalities you want. Since Pokemon are more likely to inheirit their possibly good IVs from their parents, having parents whose IVs are high in the stat you want improves your chances.

I do think that personality has enough influence on pokemon stats- I have 2 metagross at lvl 100 that are ev trained in att, both have admt nature, one is quick tempered- the other is likes to thrash about. the thrash about has a higher att. stat- both the parent pokemon compliment the beldum iv nice, but there is a difference in the final stats, even after ev training both pokemon the same way.I still am having a little diffaculty in understanding the prng thing, but I can learn it like when I learned how to ev train back in the day.
