Need some Advice for my Amphy Deck

Hello to one and all.

This be me first post here at PokeGym, and it's been a lllooonnnggg time since I've been to the Pokemon Scene. I've recently gotten back into it just when FR/LG came out, and I've been diligently getting cards left and right from the previous sets. So anyways... here's the deck, and I'll explain the problem I'm running into:

Now, here's my problem - I can't get Ampharos / Dark Amphy out by at LEAST turn 3 - 4 not even 50% of the time. I've thought about the Delecatty line, instead of the Pidgeot line. Also, I've toyed around with the idea no Dark Amphy, but only straight up Amphy EX (as he's the EX I love to death, and want to make a really kick-*** deck with!!)

I had gone down to the Deoxys Pre-Release, and I took this deck down with me. Let me say... I got schooled, especially by a deck called a ZapTurnDos deck. That got me really frustrated, as it's speed was just outrageous!! Against other decks, if I had a good hand opening, I could go toe-to-toe with them. I know that sometimes, I was stuck with a Dark Flaaffy out, but no Dark Amphy!! I'd love some help / idea's on how to help make this deck work more and more (by getting Amphy EX out faster, and having him do damage faster with his attack as well).

I've also toyed with the idea of adding in Zapdos EX, but whenever I had tried to, the deck turned out to be more of SUPPORTING HIM, rather than Amphy EX. Something I don't want to do.

So please... help me.

You want to run Amphy EX, minus the Dark Flaffy and Dark Amphy, and go 3/3/3 on the Amphy EX line. Minus the Dark then since it's unneeded, and go with Boost. Might want some more draw. try 4 TV Reporter/Rocket's Mission or Prof Cozmo, no idea what would work better.

Object is the ol' Dump / Retrieval / Draw with the Magneton & Delakitty (I know I'm spelling it wrong. lol.). 4 Rare candies and 4 Wally's training method are more than plenty to help get either the Kitty and Ton out faster, which will then in turn help get Amphy EX out. 3 Switch's to go between the attackers, and the Kingdra Tech line (Plus, if need be, an attacker as well, hence the 6 Water Energy) to help solve the Weakness to Fighting. Space Center is there to counter any Stadium's that might come into play & also help get through Wobb.

Thoughts on this??
 
Actually... I'll confess, I don't know much about the Team Aqua and Team Magma (Other than there's the killer Team Magma deck(s) running around right now) Pokemon, as that's really the only set I haven't been too much into. (I personally am a Team Rocket fan. Ol' Skool Baby!! lol.). But anyways, I'll look them up and see what they can offer. =)

Any more please??

Edit - I've looked into the TA Manectric and TA Lanturn. It's a possibility, as it'll get energy down faster. I'll also look into getting some Briney's in for it though.

ok my fixxing i suggest dont go with amphy ex dark amphy is better only amph ex will work with is blastoise ex ok my suggestions
-2 switch
-2 flaffy
-7 lighting energy
-1 strenght charm
-2 magmite
-2 maganton
-2 mr. brineys compassion
+3 atm rock for a total of four
+2 dark amphy for a total of 3
+1 dark flaffy for a toatl of 2
+4 double rainbow when you have one lighting on dark amphy just atch double rainbow bam thats 3 energies so just discard ligthing and if you dont have lighting in hand use dark energy bam discard double rainbow energy
+2 any energy other than lighting
+3 natu ss
+3 xatu xatu you can atch double rainbow energy to him bam even though you are placeing damage not doing damage you dont get the -10 damage so mainly double rainbow is like a mainly 2 energies at once with no subtractions and also keep the stadium cards just in case someone plays mt. moon that blocks xatu power when he is active remove one damage counter from each of your pokemon. Nice so have fun
 
Hmm... that's a possibility. The only thing is that I REALLY love Amphy EX. Mostly because I haven't seen a really "good and successfull" deck built with him... yet. I was kind of hoping to do that.

But Dark Amphy is my 2nd love. I could build a 2nd deck like that. =)
 
i think you should build dark amphy but have 1 amphy ex in theree cause you can always rare candy a mareep into amphy ex i like him too but maybe you could put one flaffy and take out a tomb so bam cause a lot of ppl dont play monarchy or magma serioulsy the on ly deck you have to worry about is vilepume
 
I suggest running some ATM: Rock, Dark Amphy and Amphy Ex. Lets face it, when it hurts to attach energy/evolve and meanwhile you're having to re-evolve. That's a nasty situation to be in.
 
I was going through some of the cards, and I saw the TRR Magby. I started to think - "Hmm... very interesting. I can basically use the effect of a Supporter 2x.". Double the Briney, Double the Celio, Double the Cozmo, Double the Steven (If you play it all right), double the fun!!

So, here's what I've just come up with. Let me know what you think.

Basically, Sparce to help get the basic's, and Magby to help with the drawing / re-use of the Supporters.
Plus, Magby's a Baby Poke, so he gets the flip effect against my opponent when they try to attack it.

Basic Idea - Pika/Rai helps get energy out faster, and then transfer them over to my other poke's. Wynaut/Wobb help against EX's and also getting my Evo's out. Zapdos is for a "Surprise Attack", and of course Amphy EX is the main man. But the whole deck actually works pretty damn well. =) So far, in testing, it's been a 3 - 0. =)

But what's your thoughts though?

(I know, another "Amphy Deck". But I just love the little bugger!! lol.).
