Are The 17 Promos Going To Be Black Star Promos and Are There going to be other promos besides the 17 cards in the packs??

Im sure these 17 cards will be a set of their own like the SI was. Im sure if this works good for PUI we could see more of these mini-sets in the future. :thumb:

I'm curious which additional ways to get those 2 card boosters will be.

The flyer says events and locatoins, so Im sure the Locations are at leagues and events could mean for the city, state, gyms, prereleases, and other tournaments.

The website just posted this as of yesturday about the booster packs:

BELLEVUE, WASH – August 3, 2004 – Pokémon USA, Inc. (PUI), a worldwide leader in the trading card game industry, today announced the Pokémon® Organized Play Series 1 Card Set, which includes 17 new Trading Card Game (TCG) cards to collect, play and trade. The Series 1 set, distributed as a 2-Card Promotional Booster, will be released in September 2004 and is available through participation in the Pokémon Trading Card Game League and other Pokémon Organized Play (POP) events. In addition to the 2-Card Promo Booster, the League provides players the opportunity to earn exclusive Pokémon badges, stickers and a passport book.

Pokémon plans to release a new series of 2-Card Promo Boosters approximately every six months. A limited number of each card series will be released in English, French, German, and Italian. Each series will be exclusive to POP for six months, making League and POP tournaments the only way to obtain these unique cards for a limited time.

“By participating in an upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game League, players are given the opportunity to earn several packs of exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game cards months before they are available anywhere else,” said Susan Scheid of Pokémon. “Involvement with the League enables players to use these new cards in a fun and casual environment while fine tuning their skills and strategies against other players.”

So it looks like there will be a new set every six months. It also says one can get them in POP Tournaments so we might see them in the City, State and other tournaments.

It also says that players can get these cards months before they are available anywhere else. Makes me wonder if the cards in these booster packs will be in later sets.

We have no Leagues, no POP events so no way to earn them.
Will as usual I will see them in stores selling them.

i'd say you can get it other then at tournaments....eBay! ;)

That might be true, but Im sure PUI is going to watch for it just like Upper Deck did with their tournmanet packs for Yu-Gi. I remember a couple stores got caught with their hands in the cookie jar and lost the right to hold Yu-Gi leagues and tournaments for it. It would not surpise me if PUI would do the same.

GLB - I will remind you on this post later this year.
Meaby PUI will look inside the US borders and take action, but outside????

What Happens if the 17 Tournament Packs For Pokemon Are Just Like the Tournament Packs For Yu-Gi-Oh???
Anybody Care For A 200$$$ Pokemon Holo or Pokemon Ex??
