Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

New Pokemon.Com Web Site!

Still haven't received my email......and my league is missing from the list....odd as I had dates listed through the end of the month.....Wonder what else I will find....if I ever get into my account....and since reading some of these posts....I have to wonder how much trouble activating all of my children's accounts are going to be....*sighs*.....Already a stressful month....and one of my favorite things wants to add to it.... *blinks*...Yeah...sounds like my luck......

EDIT_ Ok...If you have not received your email yet...try this.....go back to the site and click resend activation email...mine popped up like immediately after I did that! My husband did it first, and when it worked for him...then worked for me...I figured I would post it and maybe it would work for others!

I have some rather disturbing news. I was on the new Pokemon.com about an hour ago and downloaded the Pokemon Rumble screensaver in the Cool Downloads section in Fun Zone. (It seemed kind of strange since is was zipped and was 27MB) So after I clicked the exe file and started to install it, Norton came up with a bunch or virus warnings. Norton seemed to have blocked them all but there were about 100 attempts in it's log after that. And all of them came from a file called PokemonRumble.sci (I think it was sci, I'm not on that PC at the moment)
So whatever this problem is, please fix it as soon as possible. I don't really know what to say, I thought I could at leased trust Pokemon.com but now I'm going to have to wait and see when/if it becomes safe before I can go there again.
I'll do some software forensics on that file and see what is up. Sometimes, Norton will throw false positives if the code has a similar structure to a virus or malware.

I'll post the results of the tests. I can only test the PC version of the screensaver, though. My bet is that there are some structure issues and not actual Malware or Virus...

Yeah,I was using the PC version. And the problem only started after it completed the install and went to the part where you select which screensaver to use. Hopefully it was just Norton acting up and not any magor problems.

The file that threw the error was the PokemonRumble.scr file.

Sometimes Norton with high security settings will flag these files as suspicious and the loading processes will all be flagged.

I found no malicious code or malware embedded in the files. All scans were clean.

Well that's a releaf. My trust in Pokemon and Nintendo has been restored. And while you're here, why is that screensaver 24MB larger than the other two? Is it just more complicated?

All,
Due to the scope of the launch for the new Pokémon.com, as well as the vast amount of user, tournament, and League data that has been migrated from the go-pokemon.com website, there is still a large number of data issues being addressed internally.

We ask our existing Organized Play users to be patient and, if at all possible, to wait before submitting any inquiries about ratings, player account activation, and tournament or League results until Monday, January 18th, 2010. We anticipate that most, if not all, of these kinds of issues will have been resolved internally by that date.

If you are still experiencing problems with any of the above topics after Monday, January 18th, please send us an inquiry at [email protected].

Thank you,
Professor Dav

Does anyone know what this means?

Terms of Use

You have not accepted the terms of use for this website. You will need to have your parent or guardian sign in to his or her own account to accept the terms on your behalf. You will not be able to continue onto the site until this is completed.

I'm 17, I don't think I should be getting this.

wow, three long terms of use and agreements.

terms and conditions of website said:
LINKING
Pokémon does not allow or condone links to its website, pages, materials, or information without prior inspection, evaluation, and written consent by Pokémon.
Does that mean we're not allowed to link to the penalty guidelines, tournament rules, and modified legal reprint list?

terms and conditions of website said:
THE PARTIES HEREBY WAIVE TRIAL BY JURY. You agree that this provision shall survive termination or expiration of this Agreement.
They can make you waive trial by jury (6th amendment right for those of us who don't remember the Bill of Rights ) for joining?! I didn't think that was possible. Was that in the previous TOS? I don't remember, it was a long time ago. Does Facebook make us do that? I wonder if my job makes me do that...

I know people will disagree with me but here are my thoughts:

NOT COOL MAN. I've been on the original pokemon.com before all the OP stuff was migrated, and it was still super slow. Adding all this new stuff will make it even slower. I don't see this being fixed.

Another thing: if it aint broke, why fix it? The old site was fast, and was easy to navigate. What did you find bad about the old site? ?It offered something the new site just doesn't have: simplicity. It was easy to find your way around, the buttons were big and all the stuff was right there for you to see. Why make it more flashy then it needs to be?

I never thought it would go this far but... I CALL SHENANIGANS

Well, I better throw my 2 cents here as well...

First of all, I want to say that the site loads properly on this slow internet I have. I got the activation email at the second try [after resending it as the website said]. I can understand you guys are still ironing out the bugs and whatnot, but so far the website is pretty spiffy! I love the sleek new look, the time wasters [Mini-Games] are actually my favorite part! Altho, I would like to request an option to put a Mute Button on them?

Besides that, I am also loving the trainer store because it brings out a lot of questions an wishes from me [Will the winner of some tournament get a special prop? what other stuff can we buy from the store? will there be limited promos or even unlockables? How about Contest Halls?]. Im pretty excited for the Pokemon Trainer Club as well... I will miss the POP packs, but change is welcomed!

I am also surprised how integrated and dominant the TCG is now on the main website! This a really good move since I love the whole franchise... And makes me wonder if TCPI has something planned with Player IDs for the VG Showdown? I dont know, but globalization is good!

Im pretty sure everyone will get around to the new site sooner or later, its just a matter of being patient!

It is their club, you can join if want to....just play by their rules. BTW, you need to brush up on your Con Law....6th Amd Rts are for those accused of a CRIME....not civil grievances.

Guys, we all need to be patient...on the other hand, I was able to get on my account fine and tried the new games =]

All of our familiy's accounts work on the new site.
The online games are cute and fun.

Much of our info has, finally, updated onto the new site (Yay!)

The bad news is that the gravity of this migration situation puts our LEAGUE order issues WAAAAAYYYY back on the backburner for PUI.

I've got kids earning cards they can't have :(
I am sad.

I sent EVERYONE in the league to the new site to reregister (for the THIRD TIME) and now they get the message about Jan18th.
This makes me look like the anti-intelligance.

Heh, the activation email links to "mon.com" because the é isn't being parsed. Someone might want to fix that. Either that or Yahoo's automatically parsing the first "Pokémon.com" as a link.
