If anybody ever thought that Power Creep wasn't occurring in this game, compare the Fire type Chandelure to DP1 Infernape. Heck, compare it to ANY of the Fire-type Infernapes. That's just wrong...

Gardy's attack is actually decent. Remember the Ability. Psychic types, especially those that either disrupt or are cheap attackers, become very dangerous with this guy around.

Ding Dong...

Does Pokemon Center change the text of its base set counterpart?

I still like Heavy Ball...

Moar DCE? Ewww...

GUYS IT'S JUST A POKEBALL THEY DO THE SAME THING
Posted with Mobile style...

No it's an incredibly shiny Poke Ball. It's like those Poke Balls that that salesman guy sells that are covered with gold! And they always contain the most amazing Pokemon ever: Magikarp. Using one of these cards in your deck is like saying: "Yeah, that's right. I know I'm gonna win, so I had to handicap myself by one space just to make things fair."

It's kind of sad to see it has virtually no use in a deck, but it is nice to see that won't be necessary for specific decks like Victory Medal was.

What a hilariously bad card!

It's like they're trying to negate the power creep by printing really crappy cards. ATTN: it doesn't work that way! You have to stop printing the broken cards, too.

I do think they're doing a lot better on that front, too, though. So maybe this is a good thing.

This is just WRONG!! First we find out they're going to start giving energy at league, and now we get a completely USELESS promo card for Battleroads, given to three spots even. They won't even be that collectible due to saturation/sloppy effect. They could have at least made it a marginal ability(like lux ball or something). At least Victory medal can still be played(thank the pokegods), cause this card is a complete dissapointment. What are they thinking? Is it something like "Let's give them crap this season cause they will play events anyway, HaHaHa" ? Seriously though, does anyone in the know have any ideas behind the decision to totally neuter the promo stuff coming from tcpi this season, just after they gave away one of only two playable stadiums in the current format as a Worlds promo?

I can't believe people are actually complaining about the card being bad. Weren't we just complaining about the Worlds promo being good? Seriously, very limited promos that are good/possibly staples is a bad thing for the game. I'm glad this card is bad.

It looks great, though, and I want one. Or more, preferably.

Im planning on winning, trading, or buying a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Victory Cup. Who else on here are going to collect these?

Lux Ball wasn't a 'marginal ability', it was a staple card in 95% of decks.

As for your 'what were they thinking?' question, it could have been something like this:

'Lets finally retire Victory Medal, increase the prize support for Battle Roads, and make something nice for collectors without creating ridiculous secondary market prices for players'

This is the Pokemon community. Whether they re-printed Luxray X and the SP engine and then made Cyrus the promo, or they made Dunsparce the promo, the complaining wouldn't cease. I agree with you though.

Sadly.

Ergo, a non-flippy Victory Cup would be the most broken card in the format.

True, but I argue that a non-flippy 'one per deck' Victory Cup (with stipulations like Luxury Ball) would be balanced, fair to those who can't collect multiple, and would add more incentive to do well, other than financial packages, which would save TPCi money.

awesome i tired of getting packs and no card for 3rd

Try winning

So, to restate what has already been stated, its just a Pokeball?

Nice...very nice. So, the new tin promos are cards from B&W, EP was a run of complete crap, save 4 cards and that is coming off the coattails of Call of Crap, which was also a turd, we get ENERGIES for league promos (which, are actually cool, but still), and the new Reshi/Zek boxes are also reprints from B&W. Oh, and now we get a shiny Pokeball promo for "winning."

Seriously, what the crap?

Does this bother anyone else?

And, on a side note, I doubt I will be traveling for any BR's this season...which is actually easier on my pocket book, especially with the low K-value...

And what about those who don't win, or don't join the game until after BR, printing a usable card puts all of them at a disadvantage, which is unfair. Furthermore what if the same group of people constantly won, that would put those not in the group at an an unfair disadvantage.

As for promos I would like to point out that there aren't any Super Rare cards out of BW and EP aside from Full Arts, so I would imagine it a little difficult for them to print a good promo that isn't already easy to come across.

Still laughing over that, its such a great summary of late.

Lol, he's my friend, I was trash talking...I guess that falls into the "inside joke" category that Pokegym asks us to refrain from doing, even if my profile is clickable and my friends are public knowledge to those that care.

Woah! A Poke Ball reprint for winning? Now I'm totally motivated to spend 75 dollars on the cards I need for Battle Roads...

But I suppose this is ultimately good for the game. And for me, considering I lost my 5 Victory Medals a couple months ago. But it still looks like I'll be sitting at least the first couple weeks of Battle Roads - I just spend a 100+ on cards for the LCQ...

I wouldn't care if it was worse than Pokeball....the fact that it's not playable doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me is that they gave it the same effect as a card WE ALREADY HAVE.
I would be happier with it if it said "flip 2 coins; if both are heads get any pokemon" Just anything other than a card we already have
