The European Professor Cup will be held at the Sheraton Airport Hotel in Brussels, Belgium. Registration begins Saturday, May 6th, 2006, at 10:00 A.M., and the event will conclude that evening.

The tournament is run as a modified version of Sealed Deck, using the EX Holon Phantoms set. The rules remain identical to Sealed Deck with the following exceptions:
  • At the end of the second round, each player will receive two additional EX Holon Phantoms boosters. Players will have 30 minutes to rebuild their decks, using the cards they received at the beginning of the event and the cards from the two additional boosters. All decks must meet the Sealed Deck restrictions.
  • At the end of the fourth round, each player will receive two additional EX Holon Phantoms boosters. Players will have 30 minutes to rebuild their decks, using the cards they received at the beginning of the event, the cards received after the second round, and the cards from the two additional boosters. All decks must meet the Sealed Deck restrictions.
The Professor Cup will be run using Swiss Pairings. Because Swiss rounds are dependent upon total attendance, there will be a minimum of five rounds of Swiss, with more rounds as necessary based on attendance. Swiss rounds will feature one-game matches.
After the final round of Swiss, the top 16 players (attendance levels permitting) will move into a single-elimination round. This portion of the tournament will be run using the Booster Draft rules. Single-elimination rounds will be a best-of-three game format and will have a 60-minute time limit per match.

Of course not your regular MF HL-on tournament but who won? Pics?

Awesome tournament. Lots of *free* stuff. And I LOVE *free* stuff. I'm a greedy git

lev - I'm just like you. High five! *high five's lev*

Lowest person there had 0-5 standing, narrowly avoiding Jarrod's one win against Dave.

UK also (possibly) represented by our 2 visiting uni students - Fred E (lev) and Anna S (Fireborn).

Judged awesomely by Timmy (17 y.o. guy, can't remember nationality =P), Michel's daughter (Laetitia), and Prof Donphan's daughter (who wins "cutest judge" award by a long shot =D).

Judge's also got that awesome polo shirt - I want that one, looked so cool.

*looks at #27* hey 'pro, remember the Stadium Challenge 2002?

WASSUP TWENTY SEVEN =P

Gotta say that I was pleased to be up there with Dave and Jarrod :D

Despite opening 10 packs I forgot what trainers looked like - apart from Holon Fossil!!

Great tournament, great day and good fun ..

OH yeah...the germans took it home
It was an awesome event, even though I couldnt play in it =/

Well...whoever I played in between rounds with my friends Queendom against his LBS...I knocked out your Steelix...OH YEAH =P

Oh forgot to say that German people were a bit too competitive (like counting the cards in the deck, shuffling and cutting way too much...).

And it was really funny to see them thinking they were not understood when they spoke German

It was a great tournament. It was not so great to lose the last round in a nerve-wracking exciting match and just miss the top 8, though. Well, the German player who beat me had a great deck and played well, so I guess he deserved to advance to the top cut more than I did. ;)

So that WAS you. You know, nobody called you by your nickname, but I suspected you were ukpokemonpro. I never said hi. -.-;;

any decklists of the TopX?

It'd be nice to see what can be made with a 10 pack limited format.
