So I plan on getting a Nintendo DS Lite Onyx soon, mostly because of the hype for Diamond and Pearl, which I know won't come out until next year, but I still want it.

So I would dearly appreciate it if you guys posted your thoughts and opinions about your DS Lite.

I have a question, I'm the type of guy that when playing, I like to lay down. This was super easy to do with the GBA, GBColor, what about the DS? Is it comfortable playing with it while laying down?
 
I like the light blue one.
but I am not paying $200 for it in Houstons China town.
The one thing about the lite is some of tbem are the hinges arte cracked and some have pixel defects.

We have 2 DS Lite's in our family (White & Onyx)...Onyx belongs to Bro.

I also like to lay down while playing...And I have found that on your sides it can get uncomfortable after 4-5 hours...And no problems lying on your back...:lol:

homeofmew, Yeah I've read about those issues here at the Gym. If that happens to me, hopefully not, I'll just go and exchange it for another one. They shouldn't give me any excuses, since if that's the problem, I'll probably go return it same day.

Yeah, the hinges on mine are cracked, but that doesn't bother me. I like how bright the screen is, and I'm actually debating about importing the Diamond/Pearl themed DS from Japan.
 
The crack is merely a cosmetic defect on some. It only makes the system look slightly less sexy and doesn't affect the functionality or the integrity of the system at all.

Dead pixels should be a non-issue since it's possible on any type of handheld. If you get one with it just return it.

Another question, would you recommend protecting the secondary screen ( the one you touch) with one of those screen protector things? It's like a sticker and you put it on it.

Yes. I made the mistake of not doing and now it's really scratched.

gamestop wouldnt let me return mine :O
I am thinking of taking up nintendos free offer to fix it cacause it is annoying X(
 
I dislike Gamestop with a passion.

I plan on buying mine from Sears.

One thing I found annoying about the DS lite is that it needs a different charger than Game Boy SP or even the regular DS. Used to be when I traveled with my kids, I could take one charger for the game boys and the DS's. Now I have to pack two. Plus two cell phone chargers, PDA charger, camera chargers, etc.

But I really like the smaller size, lighter weight, and brighter screen.

Thanks for your input sir. Thats interesting to hear. Well it won't affect me since I don't have an SP. However, that's just one more charger I have to carry now I guess. I hope there's a car kit.
 
I've heard that it's the same charger as the Micro, though...
 
If you're getting DSL, you most likely won't need the Wifi USB connector, since your home IS a hotspot.
 
Okay, but what would give out the signal though? Won't I need one of those routers I think they're called in order for it to be a hotspot? Because I don't think I'll be getting that with the package.
