here is a solid garchomp list for today's general metagame, just to throw something else into the mix.
3-2-3-1 garchomp/lv x MT/MD
2-2 claydol GE
2-2 weavile SW
4 pachirisu GE
1 uxie LA
1 unown g (24)
4 bebe's
3 cynthia's
2 felicity's
3 rare candy
3 roseanne
1 night maintenence
1 luxury ball
1 premier ball
3 warp point (20)
6 darkness
3 lightning
3 psychic
2 fighting
2 fire (obviously change energy for your meta) (16)
pretty much a basic varient of what i played at last years regionals, updated for cities.
POKEMON
garchomp mt: pretty easy to pull off 110 for 3 energy with this guy. combine that with free retreat and 130 hp and you've got something to build a deck around.
garchomp lv x: recharges your garchomps and sets up 130 hp guys for ohkos.
pachirisu: sets up amazingly since we can't use call energy. it's much more consistant than relying on roseanne, and can do 1 energy 40 to any kingdra you might come across, not that it's a particularly hard matchup anyway. also if anyone happens to foolishly use the jirachi/amulet coin combo, you can discard it and get a chance to look at their hand.
weavile: is amazing energy accell, and helps greatly in the dusknoir and gengar matchups. i picked it over rotom because of the fact that grabbing energy from the deck is easier than the discard early game, and you pretty much forfeit the dusknoir match without turning yourself dark.
claydol: best draw in pokemon. if we get him up and running t2-t3, we will win.
uxie la: for consistency purposes. should require no explanation. can be replaced with a 1/1 uxie lv x line if so desired.
unown g: protects your claydol or weavile or whoever you choose to put him on.
TRAINERS
bebe's: obvious search. we play 4 for consistency and to try to rip the much desired t2 claydol.
cynthia's: amaaaaaaazing after your pokemon gets ko'd. 8 new cards is ridiculous! shouldn't require much explanation!
felicity's: more draw, and can get energy or a garchomp in the discard if you need one to rebirth.
rare candy: gets your garchomps up faster. i play 3 because i never got them when i had 2, but 4 was overkill.
roseanne: gets you basics and the specific energy you need to do 110 with garchomps attack.
night maintenence: gets you back the 1 or 2 gibles you will usually need to get back. i only play 1 because garchomp lv x does most of the work for me.
luxury ball: requires no explanation
premier ball: gets your level x back quickly.
warp point: soooooo good! it can get you the last crucial prize, get you out of special conditions, etc etc... one of the best cards ever.
ENERGY
6 darkness is enough. the rest can be modified however you see fit for your metagame.
POSSIBLE TECHS??????
palkia lv x/moonlight stadium: to ohko whoever whenever.
kabutops: good body, attack combos with garchomp lv x's body.
gallade: helps a lot vs regigigigigigigas which can be a really hard matchup.
pluspower/bucks: less consistant than this build but easier to get ohkos.
MATCHUPS:
I REALLY don't like posting matchups because they can be objective to many different things. I will just say if it's positive or negative.
POSITIVE:
Kingdra
Dusknoir
Gengar (with at least semi decent flips)
Machamp
Scizor/Cherrim
T-Tar
NEGATIVE
Regigigigigigas (gets better if you play gallade or palkia)
Torterra (iffy!)
So that is that, back to Zoolander.
