Haven't read the whole thread but saw some posts on ex reprints, I think we can be pretty confident that for the first few sets we're going to see nothing but Unova EX's. Just like the first 2 sets of the HS block had only Johto Primes and Johto Legends and the only non-Johto Prime from UD had a pre-evolution that was introduced in Johto anyway.

.....You do know that Mewtwo is on the pack, right? There's a VERY good chance of getting a Mewtwo EX.

Looks like Japan is serious about taking us back to base set days (Ok admn was not base set but it is for sure old school)

Per Pokebeach the New Supporter "N" has the exact same text as Rockets Administration "Both players shuffle their hands into their decks and draw as many cards as they have prizes left".

And the newl Bird Pokemon Archeops has Prehistoric Power ability. The assumption is that this will have the same effect as Fossil Aerodactyl whos Pokemonpower made it impossible to evolve any pokemon in play as long a Aerodactyl was in play.

This looks like thing are going to be very interesting this upcoming season.

Does this mean that we could use the old Rockets Admin as a supporter version of N with a printout? Or not because of the supporter difference and name change? I've been away for way too long...

i remember back in 2007 when Lafonte was hyping claydol ex PK back then! good times

That was the last time I played. I have a lot of catching up to do.

Zekrom gets Catcher, Eviolite, Eelektrik, and [DEL]possibly[/DEL] Aerodactyl. Why are they making it so imbalanced?? WHY?? I don't get what's up with the people that make these cards...
Well, at least there's Terrakion.

*moar nerdrage*

So I wasn't around for the first Fossil Aerodactyl. What are the implications? According to the translated text published on PokeBeach:

Ability: Prehistoric Power
While this Pokemon is in play, both players cannot play a Pokemon from their hand to evolve a Pokemon.

So it will apparently work from the bench. Naturally people will play beefier Basic pokemon, and there are newly revealed Pokemon that are on par with Reshiram and Zekrom. I guess this isn't the return of SP, since that had it's own engine fueling it, but is there another counter to this Ability? If it has a high retreat cost, I guess Pokemon Catcher will be the first obvious idea to drag it up and KO it out of play with whatever you have on the board. Discovering its weakness will be interesting.

Per the Compendium, there are two more ways around the Ability.

Rare Candy, even though it is played 'from the hand', breaks the normal evolution pattern and gets around any effects like Archeops.

Also, anything that takes a card from your deck to evolve gets around it. (Like Wally's Training used to, or like Weedle's attack now)

(Ninja'd on the candy. >.<)

Very good, Rare Candy was the "solution" I was hoping existed...otherwise this felt really broken. Thanks for the replies.

BUT, I guess it completely locks out Stage 1 evolutions, since Candy can no longer be used on those?

yeah that eviolite is rather over powered with all the powerful basics we have atm.

the new super rod on the other hand is complete trash why use it when you have energy returner that puts an extra 1 energy back into your deck, and of course no one really uses energy returner when we have fishermen and energy retrieval

Eelektrik's ability is nice and makes up for its stage 2 not being very good, good tech in a lightning deck combined with engineers/sage's or juniper's

LIGHTNING FIRESTARTER!!! OH JOY!!!

Magnezone would be better than before :D

Be warned; it has 2 retreat cost, and Tynamo (what it evolves from) has 30hp. Also, Catcher.

Also, I can only assume that Super Rod is a mistranslation. Maybe it is look for three energy CARDS, or maybe trainers, pokemon? Effective reprint of Night Maintenance (I wish)?

actually jahikoi theres 2 versions of tynamo so far it looks like, one from the victini with 30hp 0 retreat and a new red collection one with 40hp and 1 retreat, still both are kinda low in a poke catcher world
