Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Older Pull Rates (Japanese vs. English sets)

Yeah Mew was only in Japanese. I remember being in awe in Junior High when some kid came around with his complete sets. The guy had every English and Japanese card released in sets. I was jealous of his Mew. ^_^

Thanks guys! I appreciate the help!

Bulbapedia says that cards such as Full Arts (or the cards at the end of a set) are called Super Rare Holos, and then cards that outnumber the set (i.e. 111/110) are called Ultra-Rare Rares. The normal (non-FA) EX cards that are included in Dark Explorers are labeled as Rare Holo ex.

So the rarity symbols and definitions depicting the pull ratio on these cards you mentioned are for the English versions, right? I was just going off of the rarities on the Japanese cards (Kyurem EX is SR and Shiny Emboar is UR). Since they seem to have different pull rates I don't think I agree with Bulbapedia saying anything outside the set number is Ultra Rare. Of course, I could be completely off!

Makes sense to me because Secret Rare sounds rarer than Ultra Rare, but that's just my opinion. :)

Not always... in many EX sets, the secret rare was a box topper that came with every booster box, while the ultra rares were *s that come 1 in every 2-3 boxes.

okay, from what I have gathered from opening all of the newer Japanese/eng expansions is:
Japanese
-20 packs, 5 cards per pack, holo in 50% of packs
-10 holos/SR/UR per box. no more.
-At least 2 regular EXs per box
-3 EXs in 50% of the boxes I opened
-1 Full Art EX per 2 boxes
-If you pull a full art EX, you will only get one more regualar EX
-If you pull a duplicate holo, you will only get 2 EXs
-Shinies are 1 per 5 boxes

Eng
-Usually 2 EX, 1Fa, with shinies being 1 in 3 boxes.

Other than that, the english ratios can be pretty all over the place. Some boxes have just 2 regular EXs, while I've seen one that had 2 FA, 2 regular and a shiny.
