Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

One Piece

It isn't on air where I live (Texas).

One Piece is NOT an adult show. There has not been a single death in the show, the violence may be serious but it is never brutal, and there is no swearing. If you watch a fan-dub with swearing, they are using it for emphasis because they don't know japanese well. Naruto is probably 2-3 times more violent, and actually has main characters die.

To be more accurate, there are no present-time deaths in One Piece because Luffy is amazing enough to save everyone. However, everybody's back-story is riddled with them. Especially Brook's. ='(

Not sure about the swearing, since i watch fan-dubs and don't understand japanese, but there is quiet some big violence in One Piece. And yes there are character deaths, maybe not main characters but there surley are. One example of them is Nami's mum(whoose i forgot her name) where she was shot dead. However in the 4KIDS dub, that scene was removed and instead she was put in dundgeons for the rest of here life.

And i sugges you watch the first time that luffy fought with crocodile to see some real violence.

And IMO narutoi isn't that much violent, haven't watched it much but never saw it very violent.

Naruto isn't too violent.

Shippuuden, on the other hand........

A calm moment has a main character stabbing himself in the hand to understand his opponent...

Naruto used to be pretty popular in terms of the Anime and Manga, at least it was like that 2-3 years ago in America. Now the only thing that's keeping the series alive is the CCG for it from Bandai, the video games for PS2, and the Japanese Manga which can be read online.

The Anime for Part 2 of Naruto "Shippuuden" has gotten worse and worse throughout each episode recently with severe decline in animation quality, horrible Opening and Ending Music, and boring fillers before original manga content makes things interesting again.

Shippuuden is like Dragonball GT bad at times, though it has it's ups and downs however I think what really hurts the Japanese Manga for Naruto Shippuuden (or Part 2 Naruto) the most is the plot and the lack of character diversity that the series had in Part 1.

Look at One Piece, it's one of the only Shonen Jump series that isn't as plot driven as Naruto is same with Dragonball. Dragonball was more or less like a fighting game, beat one guy and go onto the next. One Piece is basically your typical adventure/action series but Eiichiro Oda really knows how to deliver the goods unlike Masashi Kishimoto who hasn't lived up to everyone's expectations like he should have.

I remember Masashi Kishimoto mentioning that he didn't care as much about Naruto any more and wanted to move on ever since the fans picked Sasuke over Naruto as their favorite character. I can't verify this though.

Goes to show that Oda's enjoying his manga more than Kishi is, problem with Kishi is that he's letting his success drive him instead of driving his own success which he's failed to do for nearly 2-3 years. Infact Kishi is trying to wrap up the Naruto Manga so fast that he wants to move on to his next new manga "Mario" which is supposed to be Mafia oriented.

Naruto is so overrated and overhyped in America these days it's ridiculous, it's like watching 20 people vomit right infront of you. Don't get me wrong Part 1 of Naruto was great but you can't deny that it jumped the shark when Part 2 started and the agonizing filler arcs of Part 1 are partially to blame for it.

If it wasn't for the fillers I think Naruto would've been doing ALOT better both in the U.S. and Japan and it would of been on par with One Piece and Bleach but unfortunately that was never the case. Next time you see a series that you believe may be the next best thing since DBZ do your homework first on the author but the pain of it is seeing If it makes it or drops out in a 2-3 years span.

The Naruto manga is pretty good IMO. It gets a lot better once Naruto actually learns how to learn something...

Naruto is so overrated and overhyped in America these days it's ridiculous, ...

At my Pokemone league of about 30 kids between the ages of 8-15, the store hosting us gives me stuff they can't sell every once in a while. I got a starter deck and about 10 boosters of Naruto cards. Half of the kids didn't want the Naruto stuff, and the ones who would take it didn't even know what Naruto is. Seriously, were talking about Naruto's prime audience. Just saying, I don't think Naruto is very popular anymore, I think the anime was mishandled.

I would say that the manga is actually pretty good sometimes.

Probably because it's more profitable for Cartoon Network to run their in house shows than to grab onto animes. It's sad really. Anime is slowly moving back to anime fans only.

Oh well, I've already made it a habit to watch Gurren Legann and Rave Master on Sci-Fi Channel whenever I get the chance. I still watch One Piece whenever the newest episode airs from Japan with English subtitles though.

My friend watches Gurren Legann... its animation is very diffrent compared to the norm animation. Idk if it just looks like that to me or it really is diffrent. And ive never really took a huge liking to One Piece its an ok anime, im more of a person for anime that isnt really popular in the US. There are some realllllllyyyyy good anime out there there, my favorite anime has to be Soul Eater. When Naruto came out i thought it was pretty darn awsome! But to me Soul Eater blows Naruto out of the water (even if Soul Eater is only a 51 episode anime *tear*)

I highly recommend Soul Eater for those who are really into anime

Soul Eater was absolutely amazing. . . and then it diverged from the manga and became significantly less amazing.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, on the other hand, is epic in its purest form. After Top wo Nerae! 2 and Gurren Lagann, GAINAX has a lot to live up to with their next super robot show whatever it may be. You know, after they stop making summary/remake movies of their previous show. >_>

Hajime No Ippo (Fighting Spirit) is where it's at IMO. Awesome Anime and Manga series, really gets you going. The One Piece Anime series is good it's just that now the Manga overshadows it and they're showing fillers again.
