Please tell me your not insinuating that I am a liar. I explained to you yesterday why I didn't talk to you and you raising your hand up letting me know I could talk to the hand was too much for me to deal with. I honestly don't know if I told Cathy about the insulin because to my knowledge we were going to make it. but I do know for a fact that Wes spoke with Daimon (sorry about the spelling) that we did in fact have to turn around. once again I'm not defending the fact that we were late. It was our fault we should have been there sooner. The fact that you decided to make an example of us (your family) after giving a warning to any and all other players is appalling to me and I hope no one ever has to go though what we went through ever again.

This is RUDY first time posting, but according to my information from my cousin who was actually there unlike those who were late " I know what thier plans were" they wanted to get there late so they could get a first round lost and play easy players throughout the tournament giving them a better shot at winning States.

She's using TMS? Darn, I wish I had done that...........
I think you meant TOM, Steve.
Yeah Rick, whatever they're using these days. My PTO or Patricia has always run the software at our big events, so I just call it "that dang-crashing tournament software..."

you might want to read the entire thread this has been discussed several times why would 5 experienced Master Div players intentionally take a a loss and be forced to play each other? when 3 of the 5 were from out of state and the other 2 are either the Judge for most events and the Son of one of the other judges who happened to be out of town.

why would 5 experienced players want to go into states with the worst resistance possible?

No this is the best example of how to not when states, loss=bad. Ryan and Fulop went into far more detail why than I am going to though.

Spookes: I'll give you credit for coming on here and posting, know one denies you had the right to do what you did. But why tell people that they could recieve a round 1 loss if they are not in line on time. But instead turn them away for being late. I would be more inclined to be on your side had you said show up late your not getting in PERIOD. I would have thought wow she strick but fair advertising it in advance. I'm willing to bet even though you won't respond to this thread you will still read it. So may I make the suggestion if your going to have a no entry after registration ends policy than you advertise it like that. Instead of advertising a round 1 loss for tardiness.

Hey Rudy! Welcome to the Gym

Really? Your Cousin was there and told you that? then it MUST be true!!

Then why not just register on time and hang out in the bathroom for 10 minutes after the first round starts?

Do the dang tie-breaker math. Event tardiness is the HIGHEST tie-breaker.

wow, so everyone who was taking the PTO to task earlier without having both sides of the story would rather jump all over a rookie poster than respond to the PTO's post?

Thx for posting Trish. We now have the "other side".

I think everyone can agree that a 1 hr and 45 min regis period is more than ample. In the states I will HJ (TN and SC), the regis is 1 hour.

Now.....can we please close this thread before the flames get too high?

I'm sorry, it must not be that obvious. RUDEDOG, RUDY, an extreme view that would get everyone riled up? This is obviously (kind of?) someone just posting to cause trouble.

Late arrivals at our last City Championship caused the latest verson of TOM to crash, twice. Our PTO had to revert to a previous version of TOM. We started over an hour late and had to finish the TopX at Carl's Jr.

So, I sympathize with Patricia. Late arrivals "can" cause problems.

I'm not disagreeing with her or anyone we were late it was our fault but the precedent had been set all though cities that even if you were late you would be let into the event with a warning and a 1st round loss. look back though all the cities the same disclaimer was there I was never late to an event yet I saw people come in late to every single one and get let in, even after the speech and posts here on the gym and the OP site. I made a mistake and forgot something that was NEEDED to keep a friend healthy his father left it in my hands and I dropped the ball.

My complaint is that all though out this season exceptions were made but for us none were.

I hope you weren't talking about me Doreen. Those remarks demanded a response. And, all my posts have been supportive of Patricia.

Nevertheless, there's a possible "lesson learned" here, as DaveS has pointed out. Things like this, regardless of who's right or wrong, result in policy reviews, and maybe changes. Heck, maybe this is rooted in an IT (InfoTechnology) problem. As I stated in a previous post, if TOM crashes when late arrivals are added, that IS a problem that disrupts the integrity of the event. Period. Changing the policy won't solve that problem - rather, it's time to call in the "nerd herd.":thumb:

Ken: I understand your side too. My "opinion" doesn't really matter though bc I wasn't there and what has passed has passed. At this junture, all we can do is go forward and learn from this.

Every PTO has a player or group of players that dont seem to "get" there is a cut off time for regis. and waltz in whenever (NOT saying that is the case w/ you Ken). Eventually, a line gets drawn in the sand. You simply were the 1st ones burned by this policy, even though it never happened to you before.

Whatever was said/done between you two is your business and the 2 of you will need to work that out.

Keith

wow ya exceptions where made b/s there not as high ranked as states and i guess in evry tourny when she gives the warning dont be late didnt seem to go through so and i hope you are sorry for making this thread into to such a flame thread and making trish look so bad so and feel sorry for the guy that forgot his insulin that made you guys late but i also think this was bad on your part that you didnt leave way early so there woudnt be a mishap kk
