Hi i have heard that in some countries it is possible if the player who earned the world invitation and not going to worlds to pass down the invitation to different player who is going there. I would like to know how does it work if it is possible thanks

Mistake in name of the post -___- cant edit it : )

It seems pretty clear from the OP site that there will be no pass downs.

Invitation "Pass Down" Awards
Invitations are awarded without pass downs as of the 2010 season. This means that players who earn an invitation via a National Championships or who are not opted in to Ratings and Rankings will take one of the invitation slots awarded regardless of their eligibility to collect the invitation.

I don't think there will be an exception for any country, although stranger things have happened before. I will be extremely surprised if there are any pass downs at all this year.

No it is different what i am talking about is

Example i am from czech republic we have paid trip for 1st and invite for second, if the second dont wanna go, can the invite be given to another player for example in top 8 or so

No. Invites do not pass down.

Travel awards (the money used to go to Worlds), may pass down, usually conditional on whether the person who won the travel award already has one. Travel awards may or may not pass down depending on the situation, so you should ask the tournament organizer for that information.

However, invites do not pass down. They haven't for 3 years.

YES you can pass down the invite at nationals. By doing so you give up all entitlement to worlds that year. It has to be done on the day of the event as the player wil be expected to sign that they are giving up the invite and there is no way it can be reinstated once lost.

I expect that it applies in the USA too.

NoPoke, I'm a little confused by what just said, the OP site says that "invitations are awarded without pass downs as of the 2010 season."

You're more knowledgeable about this than I am, so could you please clarify this for me? What does the OP site refer to when it say that "invitations are awarded without pass downs?" Thanks for taking the time to explain this.

the page linked above is talking about ratings invites, whereas ian/nopoke is talking about invites awarded at a country's national championship...

Ah, good to know. Thanks.

The OP page about Nationals doesn't mention anything about the passing down of invites, so I incorrectly assumed that the only place on the OP site where pass downs are mentioned is all-inclusive.

Sorry for the misinformation, Martinek.

Yeah no problem i was confused to cause i cant see it written officially anywhere

I will apriciate link or something thx
