Pay to use apprentice?

Hello, I was trying to download and install a patch for apprentice. The problem is, that my free trial of Winzip ran out, which I need to extract to apprentice. I rember my friend telling me that I would never need to buy Winzip to use it's extracting purpose, is that true? What do I need to do to install my new patch? Thanks for your time.

windows xp has a built in extractor. maybe try right clicking the file and go properties. read 'opens with' then click change. then select a different program.

maybe try uninstalling your old winzip and install a new one.

or go to download.com and search for 'zip' and download a program that can unzip your file.
