Okay for the top 8, I came up with this:

These people have already finished their games:
Mama Luigi (3-1)
Loki126 (3-1)
honchvire (3-1)
Master Entei (4-0)
Zard1111 (3-1)
-Total so far 5

After this match both players will still have a good enough record to stay in:
Spike (3-0) vs. PkB_ (3-0)
-Total so far 7

After these matches only two have a chance:
Victory Bell (2-1) vs. sdrawkcab (2-1)
tehlizard (2-1) vs. L the Great (2-1)
-Total so far 9

Assuming this guy got a bye, but he shouldn't be kicked out for that:
CMsvW (2-1)
-Total so far 10

Okay so there is 2 too many.

Okay so I checked the thread and Victory Bell and L the Great seem to be inactive. But instead of dropping them and giving their opponents wins, you should match up sdrawkcab and tehlizard so the total can come down to nine and it'll be fair to those who actually played this round.

Now we either got to drop the list down to eight by getting rid of an inactive player or start the top cut with 9, having two players be unlucky and have to play an extra match to see who makes it as the eighth seed.

What do the other people who can make the top cut think we should do?

I was hoping people would have responded to this but I suppose I will just pair people this evening unless they have some input now.

Since L the Great beat tehlizard and Victory bell dropped. sdrawkcab and CMsvW should face each other to drop the number down to nine.

I really don't have anything to contribute, but I guess that kind of arrangement's fine. How were you planning on forming the top cut (in terms of who gets dropped) in the first place? We haven't got resistance, so would've you just let the 3-1s in on random?
 
I've done soft pairings for tournaments before I can look through pairings from each round and peice it all together. In this case I can easily drop innactive players from top cut. I think we can move on to top cut at this point. I was thinking with the amount of people dropping that I could do a top 4 to move things along but I will probably go with a top 8 since that was Blitzers original intent. I'll start the top 8 tonight when I get home.

Thanks for clearing that up. It was a bit confusing to try and post results while the Gym was down.

The two players bubbled out had the worst theoretical resistance based on early game losses and/or early opponent drops, sorry guys.

I'm finally back around after attending nationals. Frustrated I got 107th. Anyway, I'm fine with the loss because it didn't knock me out of the tournament. Good luck to the top 8!
 
My deck isn't even relevant in this format anymore but I guess I'll see how this top cut goes. PMing Mama Luigi now!

Hey is top cut loser-choose for going first? I know we did random everything for swiss, but thought perhaps rules might change for top.

I remember Blitzer writing somewhere on the first few pages that top cut goes loser-choose, even while swiss was random. So yeah.
