Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Not likely. Most lists don't have the Energy and I've never seen one run E Gain.

Gyarados plays 4 Pokemon Rescue and BTS. When a Gyarados is KO'd, just rescue a Magikarp and start hitting for 90 all over again. No Energy required.

The deck should run Call energy, especially with Sableye forcing you to go first in a lot of games. Against SP and slower decks, that is great, but against Machamp/Kingdra, you're asking to get OHKOed and benched and Call helps prevent that, as it always does. Getting stuck with Magikarp and NEEDING to pull out Sableye to avoid getting benched by virtually every attacking card out there is another reason to run Call.

1 Warp/1 Switch is pretty normal. I don't suggest to play cyclone/warp energy... Call is way better :)

Houchicrow from sv you can get magikarps out of the discard and on to there bench of course.....well if its not full and theres armaldo from legands awakend and of course electric pokemon....or what i perfer is send up one of there bench pokemon that hase a high retreat cost like claydoll....and devolutor and devoulter is good on him also.....this is sorta a long shot but you could have metagross from sv and have mismall vally out.

^not very good counters IMO^

How to counter each:

Honchkrow - fill your bench up

Armaldo from LA - UHHH you do 90 damage which their body doesn't stop and resist them.

Lightning pokemon - Um, weakness is a counter to everything really. Not just Gyarados. And Gyarados is very capable of beating its weakness (it still does well in a Luxray-filled environment).

Sending up a benched poke with high retreat - can't you do this to all decks?!

Devoluter - Very gimmicky. You are still effectively two-shotting the Gyarados, it's effect is blocked by Unown G, foiled by SSU, and if you get a KO with it they get to keep the gyarados (it goes into their hand).

Metagross/Miasma - Counter with BTS? Lol and metagross will just reduce the other player's HP making everything easier to KO as well.

i think only counter to gyarados is the same with beedrill, remove karps from game with absol g x, or broken space blow with giratina or something like that. since there isnt a card to bring it back in game.

but yeah other than that gyarados is a solid play. i like the deck and i dont see to many flaws other than no sableye start. to which u get a karp start and they ohko it on their turn.

You would run Call energy AND a few Cyclone. Don't underestimate Cyclone energy-- it's basically a prize every time you attach it, as long as they don't have a swarm of 130 HP Pokemon going.
