Next time you do this, would you mind posting it before the Prerelease?

Not a lot to add, but I bought a tin today and these were my pulls:

* 36 84 45 13 44 / 19 / 46 / 24 87 51
* 50 80 36 74 84 / 41 / 6 / 51 103 22
* 41 36 100 74 21 / 54 / 62 / 11 72 34
* 104 81 23 1 13 / 8 / 114 / 17 60 101

Pretty sure the packs are from an early print run as the FA Zekrom was an error Zekrom. I'm wondering if the error FA cards are from one print run (A-set) and the non-error FA cards are from another (B-set), but it's probably too late to separate them now. I have five more, but I wrote them down on another computer. I'll try to post those later.

Haha, uh, well, if people remember to record their packs during the first Prereleases so that everyone else can assimilate them later, then sure! But otherwise, I wouldn't know how to get this done before ALL Prereleases...

Hopefully though this Black/White print run will influence everyone to start recording their packs for later sets.

Every little bit helps! I'll add it to the list. :)

EDIT: Weird, three of your packs were outside of the green main sequence. Two were in fact WAY out of ALL sequences. Weird!

Not talking about the entire sequence. A thread like this. That way, I'll remember to record my two boxes, and that should greatly help things, right?

Ah but of course! I didn't do it this time only because I didn't realize I would do it to begin with until after the Prereleases. But again, I hope that this initial post encourage people to record their packsfor later print runs! :)

You can problably use a Google Docs Form Builder to let people fill in the form and have it import directly into a Google Docs Spreadsheet. That way you have the information automatically and don't have to type it in again after people have submitted it.

Just a possible helpful idea.

Good idea! I'm still a little Web 1.0... I'll consider it for the next print run. :)

Just got another box that all has the PTCGO packs. I'll list it once I open it later tonight.

---------- Post added 05/21/2011 at 07:55 PM ----------

This is all from the same box. Starting on the left front side and working my way to the back, then starting on the right front side and working my way to the back. I've got it in a Google Spreadsheet if that would help with data entry.

Worth noting that the Zekrom I got was the grey one. So this is not the firstmost print run AND they continued printing beta cards after they changed the print runs.

Alreet! Thanks!

OK, so after putting in the data, I have some good news and some bad news.

GOOD NEWS: Your box literally filled in EVRY SINGLE GAP remaining in the print run! I now have a single, clear line of succession from one start to a finish! Thanks a bundle!!

BAD NEWS: There actually is just ONE connection that is missing. That is, while the beginning and end of the records show the same two cards (9 and 77), I still don't have a pack which physically links the two ends together, which I assume would be either 112 63 9 77 100 or 63 9 77 100 88. The issue is, while it's obvious that they link together, without the actual pack to prove this, it's still up in the air. For example, "9 77" in that order actually appears twice, as do other two number combinations, so for all we know there's an addition block of cards which just happen to start and end in "9 77". Maybe. I mean, if there was, with all the packs that everyone have posted, we would have seen that mystery block, so it may not exist. Still... without that pack which would physically connect the ends, this print run will be incomplete.

...

OK, so, when I get home, I'll post my print run records in two formats:
* a colored format like what I used before
* the actual, final print run list, complete with numbers, names, card and elemental type info, and whatever else a pass draft player may find essential

Apart from that one last pack that would connect the ends together, I would say the Black/White Print Run is complete! YAY!! I want to thank everyone who contributed to this project, as well as given feedback on the nuts-and-bolts of it. And best of all, we're all prepared to tackle the print run for the NEXT Pokémon TCG set! (^_^)

---------- Post added 05/23/2011 at 03:52 PM ----------

Oh yeah, I'll also share with you guys some other statistics about this print run that I discovered, such as:
* How many times a particular card appears in the print run
* The most populous packs/cards/section of the print run
* etc.

I also will start work on seeing if the Uncommon print run is one that can be discovered, despite the limited number of uncommon cards in a pack of cards. Likewise, I'm going to see if it's possible to determine which rare and/or reverse holo card you will get based on the available Common card data...

---------- Post added 05/23/2011 at 11:56 PM ----------

Okey dokey! Here's the info:
* COLOR MAP: http://www.fakecard.com/pokemon/tcg/bw01/20110523.tcg.bw.png
* LIST: http://www.fakecard.com/pokemon/tcg/bw01/20110523.tcg.bw.pdf

Some facts:
* There are 121 cards in the print run.
* The print run also involves one single set of cards. This is, as opposed to Magic, where a single set has at least two separate print runs, one of which is the "good" print run while the other is the "bad" print run, and a pack of cards would consist of cards from either one run or the other, but not both.
----- I presume this "single print run" is something that Nintendo kept using after they took over the game in 2003, as Wizards also did the "single print run" too when they ran the game (at least, according to the Gym Challenge Print Run I did).

* Most cards were listed three times. Trainers, however, are listed four times, while energy cards were listed once each.
----- Two Pokemon cards, however, were listed four times instead of the regular three; Pidove and Woobat.

* Speaking of which, the Energy cards were listed in type order (starting with Grass, then Fire, Water, etc)
* Furthermore, the Energy cards were placed in the print run--generally--15 cards from each other. That is, 15 cards after one energy card is another energy card. (Generally 15 means that twice it's actually 16 cards, and once it's 14).
* Four times in the print run cards were regularly flipped with one another; that is, in one pack the cards are in order A B, then the next pack the same two cards will instead be B A. In these four times they happened on a regular basis... and oddly, three of the four involved card 7 (Pansage). I wonder why??

Other than these, I can't seem to recognize any other kind of pattern to why the cards are ordered the way they are. But maybe YOU can see something?

I just opened a box, do you still need numbers?

Sure! Hopefully it's not too late... I still am working on the uncommon print run, and to see if it's possible to determine which rare was in a pack based on its commons. (^_^)
