Hello all. I've been lurking on the forum for a couple of weeks, but this is my first post at Pokegym. I need some help identifying a couple of Pokémon items that were passed down to me from my neighbor. He worked for WoTC and used to spoil me with booster packs when I was a kid.
Anyway, he recently passed away and left me moving boxes of Magic the Gathering, Yu Gi Oh and Pokémon stuff. I recognized most of the Booster pack Boxes (36 individual) ; the Base set, Base set w/ 1st edition logo, Fossil, Jungle, Rocket and 2nd edition. The one that I do not recognize says Demo Game on the cover. http://i.imgur.com/OxfVP.jpg
He left me a good amount of these sealed packs, but I do not remember ever seeing them before. Any info on price? I'm assuming they gave these out at WoTC events since he was an event coordinator for tournaments and things like that.
He also left me his 1st Edition Charizard. It was still in the same hard plastic sleeve from when he first showed it to me as a kid. I looked on the bay and the price ranges from $250 to $5,100 (why anyone would bid that high, is beyond my comprehension.)http://i.imgur.com/CQUSk.jpg I took it out of the plastic sleeve to snap a quick picture of it. The fact is that I don't know anything about collecting cards; Vintage Japanese Guitars from the 60's on the other hand... Anyway, could anyone help me with grading this card? Do I have to bring it somewhere specific to be graded?
Other than the binders of loose 1st edition cards, the Booster Pack Boxes, loose Booster Packs, loose saran wrapped decks, and plastic boxes of loose cards (I haven't even tried to sort through that yet) He left me a sweet Denim style Jacket. http://i.imgur.com/f3TPK.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pJkV4.jpg
As styling as this jacket is, it is too large for me, and I feel like I haven't earned the title of Master Trainer Champion. Has anyone else ever come across one of these? I'm already 22 and probably won't grow anymore so wearing it is out of the question. Is it worth it put up for online auction or should I just keep it for nostalgia's sake?
Any info would be greatly appreciated, the farthest I got collecting Pokémon cards was a binder full of all the Pokémon from Bulbasaur to Celebi (admittedly, my neighbor helped me obtain the ones I couldn't find in a pack.)
Thanks.
