Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

PokeGym Gurus - These Guys know their stuff!

Is there going to be a "Time Limit?" Basically, how long will you have after a thread is created to post your answer, and are you going to lock older challenges?

Good Question.

Somebody else asked this in one of the challenge threads and I forgot to go back and answer.

I think that it's good to just leave them all open indefinately.

I mean, if someone DISCOVERS a new spin on a deck, they can share it with us and get credit for the suggestion/idea!

So, I'll just check the "old" threads each week as well.

As far as subforum to house the old threads (which is a great idea btw), it's in discussion as we speak. Not saying it will happen, just sayin' the possibility of it is being discussed. :thumb:

I thought you forgot about me.
Thanks!

Updates happen weekly, NOT daily. So, always expect the scores to get some updating every 8 or 9 days.

Usually, it happens on Sundays (because of work-releated time constraints). But, if something happens on Sunday, it'll go 2 weeks out :(

So, uh... *polite cough* ;P

I know. Life gets at me FAST when it sees me sneaking off to the computer to update a Guru Point .. LOL

I've been chugging away at the Typhlosion and Raichu threads to get caught up.

It WILL be updated throughout the course of this week regardless of other real-life anti-GuruThread obstacles .. LOLz !

May I suggest having a discussion on a deck/card relevant to the format, and not the current "fun" things like Raichu and Typh that are very unlikely to ever be good? It would probably be good for the n00bies to have some solid info on winning decks so that they can prep for regs.

Im pretty sure you could start an article about luxchomp articles because there are so many of them, seriously.
There just isnt much to discuss this season...

The deck "challenges" are getting people to MAKE a "relevant" deck MORE relevant!

That's why it's a deck challenge.

The GURU DECK DISCUSSION threads are where we discuss a BDIF and what makes it tick.

So, your comment is actually in the wrong thread :/

BTW ... HEY !!! Haven't seen your name in a thread in awhile. I'll have to get up you way one of these days. We haven't played in the same tourney in about a year and a half

As cool as Raichu is, neither it nor Typhlosion are relevant.

They aren't even "relevant".

=\

Typo. I meant to say "make an irrelevant deck more relevant."

Regardless, why hate? It's something fun to try to do with your time while offering up some combo ideas to one another.

Have you actually played Raichu?

If you haven't then id really reccomend you recalculate your decision, it has MAJOR potential. It is a good card/deck, it can win against many things.

I'm not hating, I'm pointing out that DP has a point. We're discussing decks that random new players will look at and go "Wow, that looks really cool!" and we're giving them solid builds that they can use and do decently with. There's nothing wrong with that goal and as you've seen I like contributing towards it!

But are you really improving the skill of the playerbase that way? You're giving them a look at what makes a deck work, but you're not showing them what makes a good deck.

I don't disagree with either goal or idea, I would really like the chance to see higher-level debate about established metagame decks, that's all.

I have played Raichu and considered it for a while against the current metagame. Spray and powerlock have a tendency to demolish it, as well as an inferiority complex to Garchomp C (which does the same amount of damage, faster, more easily, with the same amount of HP, and has better support).

Potential, obviously. Loads of cards and combinations in this format have POTENTIAL. It's just that SP shuts them all down.

I used to think SP shut this boy down, but after testing...its far from the truth.

SP has weaknesses, and some people have finally found it.
