I decided to make a new Pokemon tournament just to see some decks being played and to let the Pokegym community test in a structured format. Here are the rules:

RedShark is the default online simulator!!! You may decide to use another method such as Apprentice, In-Real-Life, Webcam, etc.

1) Deadlines are Deadlines
2) There will be no replacements
3) There are no prizes except bragging rights
4) You are allowed to use Proxies (If you tell your opponent)
5) There will be swiss rounds and a top cut
6) report cheating

NO CHANGING DECKS

After each match, please report the wins/loss and the decks played

6 or less Players = 3 rounds

8 Players = 3 rounds w/ a Top 2

16 Players = 4 rounds w/ a Top 4

32 Players = 5 rounds w/ a Top 8

Swiss = 40 minute rounds Best of 1
Top Cut = 1 hour Best of 3

If I have asked someone I personally know to join or I am on a team with them (like Team Hatter) then your post on the Gym overrides a PM to me, a MSN message, other forums, etc. You still *might* get it but, if 15 people post on the Gym and I haven't updated, you are number 16 (AKA NO EXCEPTIONS).

Round 1 will start after I get a secure amount of players (hopefully 32)

Yes, it is on RedShark. If you have some other way of playing though, you are allowed to do that (Apprentice, IRL, Webcam, etc.).

hmm, I'll test my Dark PLOX deck (Has DCE as the old DCE's in it). Sounds fun, should be good practice


EDIT: I don't think a time limit is a good idea. I can see people abusing it and 'lying' about times etc. Plus, lets say you said BRB in the middle of your turn and didn't come back for 10 minutes, it can massively affect the results of the match... JMHO

There are very few released cards right now but, we are assuming that every HG/SS card is in RS atm. Test out your new Feraligatr deck, play pl0x w/ DCE, etc. Go nuts. So we are "just assuming".

Donezator: I'll leave it up to the players about the time. If someone leaves for 10 minutes, it should be a forfeit. Just be sure to save a copy of the RS log.

Everyone: You don't have to state your decks or lists right now. You only have to state them after round 1. You do not have to state minimal techs, Example: pl0x w/ Dusknoir (Don't list Unown G or Azelf).

I somehow doubt anyone was going to dispute this, but just to be official, let's go off of the Pokebeach translations then, shall we?

However. if there is a difference between a Pokebeach HG/SS card and there is a released version (Example: Ho-Oh Legend), then we are going with the released version.

It hasn't been released. Build your deck with proxies - put in cards to represent HGSS cards that have been translated, and then tell your opponent what all your proxies are when the battle begins.

Like, for me, I'm gonna proxy a ton of trainers. I'll probably have Looker's Investigation = Copycat (since they are similar) but I'll tell my opponent when I start, "Hey, I have all these trainers that are actually proxies, yadda yadda..."
