I just dled Redshark unfortunately and have already arrived at a problem. It says I'm not able to save my deck to the Redshark program file. Not a problem right? I saved it to a different folder. When I try to start a new game though, I can only play with decks from the Redshark program file. Anyone wanna help?

Thank you for asking that. I forgot to post about this:

EVERYONE:

When you start RedShark, you only need to RIGHT CLICK and select "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR"

RedShark is opened as a "read only" when you open it the normal way (by clicking on the icon).

"RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" will enable you to create, edit, modify etc. your lists.

Just a thought, but you said that it will start saturday 26th (tommorow). I was thinking that this may not be the best day to start, as many people (including myself) go to parties/relativies on 'boxing day'. Just a thought, but perhaps start the day after?

i have the same problem mikey, and i also am using vista:((
apprentice pwease!!!!
puh puh ppuh Pwetty pwease?

For RedShark: Just remember to RIGHT CLICK the icon and choose "Run As Administrator" and you'll be fine.

and you CAN use Apprentice. I never said you couldn't.

The only thing that seems to be controversial is that if your opponent is not an Apprentice user, you have to accomodate by playing him/her in RedShark or scoop the match.

i wouldn't spend my time 'complaining' aka trying to better something if i didn't earnestly think it was a good endeavor and worthy of such thought and debate.

hopefully my efforts at trying to convince you to use a different platform didnt come off as me trying to minimalize your efforts or this idea. in fact, i think its a great idea. there's simply no way i can participate, but that doesnt mean i dont want to see things i think are interesting/with potential be their best. i simply have the opinion that APPR is superior and would make this best- but opinions can differ. i was just trying to get at the root at WHY you chose RS over APPR.

good luck to all the participants and good luck to you especially, RA. lots of paperwork =P
merry christmas, again.

Thanks for understanding :thumb:

Do you guys think Windows 7 will have the same problems that Vista has?

It works exactly the same in both. I have it on 3 computers.
1. Windows XP 2. Vista 3. Windows 7

There's no difference for me amont the three operating systems.
Just remember to RIGHT CLICK the icon and choose "Run As Administrator" and you'll be fine.

Good point. I am a little concerned about the timing. How about we just get matchup up tomorrow and give people ALL WEEKEND (until Sunday) to get their best 2 of 3 in ?

where do i send my deck list to?
and peeps are changing they decks cuz they fraidy cats!!!!
except for chrome who is no fraidy cat at all.

So, I know I'm not the only one who has stuff to do Saturday. Can the first round start Monday instead? That way there's some room for people who are busy on the weekend to start on time.

RedShark WILL malfunction on you in the middle of a game from time to time.

People don't want to win/lose because of a cotton-pickin' glitch either. :/

grrr....

I'm not going to lie, Apprentice will not crash nearly as often as Redshark.
Apprentice is seriously the better choice for tournaments. The "Did he cut out, or just leave purposely to avoid cheating?" issue is TOO huge to leave up to a glitchy program.

Yes. That's another reason i figured two out of three instead of just one game.

I need to make a "TIME" rule for Redshark to combat that issue.

Something like "If the timer on the RedShark screen is at thirty and your match glitches out, then it counts."

It's a shame that we have to even consider the possiblity that someone would just "time out" intentionally.
