I wasn't sure where to put this so I put it where I felt it belonged.
I went to Dreamland Comics 2 in Libertyville, Illinois this week and they welcome players to come in and play (any games not just pokemon) Tables are set up all day so you can come in and play.
I am gonna talk with the owner this Saturday about starting a league there the other employees seem excited at the idea so I hope I can get the ball rolling. So watch this thread if you live in the area I will post when I get updates.
But for the time being there is no "true" organized play. If anyone wants to meet up and play or trade there drop me a PM!
