did anyone ever encounter any odd level monsters in the last part of victory road? for a short time on my cartridge i would exit from the last rope "hole" , i guess thats what its called (?), right before you would basically exit victory road and make it to the elite four and then when exiting said hole i would immediately enter a battle. the battle however was an odd one-- level 5 blastoise seemed to be the "staple" monster that i would initiate battle with but on occassion i would engage with a real-life mew. but i made the mistake of catching said mew and then the "glitch" i suppose it would be called-- corrected itself. i could no longer repeat the feat willingly.

but my question is did anyone else have the odd pleasure of encountering this glitch?
by the way i did acidentally start a new game and lost my mew :(

If that's true, maybe it was a bug in the game code, like the way you can fight the level-5 (or whatever level it's at) Mew in Red/Blue.

i did fight a mew at that level and captured it. my cousin tried to get me to do the monster duplicate trick but i was afraid of losing it so i didn't especially after hearing that in order to get one normally one had to get it traded to from a nintendo person or whatever. but has anyone else encountered a level 5 blastoise? i just thought it was so weird when that happened. i still own the cartridge but it never glitches like that anymore.

oh and its not squat, i do wish i could prove it to you all now but is it really that shocking that a cartridge could glitch in that way? i mean stranger things have probably occurred.

give me the code and I'll change my mind.
The only Mew code that I know works is the one that is at level 7 and you can't have beaten the trainers near Bill's house and Lavender town.

dude it wasn't a code or anything it was just a cartridge glitch or something. the only thing i can think of that i did was name my character Ash and choose charmander from the start. other than that, my game was normal and cheat free. if you don't believe it than think about all the other strange glitches, errors, and phenomena surrounding the older and current pokemon games and don't tell me it isn't possible for such things to occur.

Something like that probally could happen, since the Mew & Missingno. trick were real. Just a bug in the game.

well, with the wonder of gameshark, you could encounter a mew at any level up to 255 :)
as for the problem at hand, if it seriously happened, i would credit it to glitched game code, most likely caused by a gameshark or faulty save or something like that. as long as your file wasnt erased, though, you should survive :p

Speaking of glitches, I had a really screwed up Blue version. It was at Cinnabar island (Missingno land ^_^), but instead of Missingno, I got an abundant of other...beings. I fought Gary, as a trainer, and owned 4 missingnos, all level 80, and kept on using water gun. I also found Prof. Oak as a trainer, and he owned Amber Fossil as a pokemon. I fought Cooltrainers that had weird pokemon. I fought a wile Amber Fossil, tried to catch it, and the game froze, it didn't know any attacks. I don't remember how I got it, but it eventually disappeared.

Apologies that this thread is a bit old, but no one asked the rather important question; did you have the game from new?

Since its been around such a long time, I'm imagining not. In which case you have no idea what devices have been used on it before it was yours. Starting a new game won't fix corruptions that come from using the various cheat devices. Since no one here has heard of games randomly corrupting on their own, and we all know a lot of people who play pokemon, its seems unlikely to me that they can.

This thread is three years old. The original poster has not been here for two years. Do you -really- think that anyone is going to be able to answer your question? I mean, seriously.

Argh! I thought it was 12 days old, not 3 years and 12 days.

Seriously sorry, mods.

I followed the link from the toysrus DP backpacks thread via "related links", so it never occured to me to check the YEAR, I just glanced at the date.
