Matt, remember you had the same reaction to Shiftry CG and that didn't come out too broken. Stackable damage counters for using your Poke-Power? There goes Metanite! Nope!

So, stackable damage counters for using a Supporter. Son, you have to get them Ampharos' out first. By then, it may be.... "too late."

Uh, I didn't have the same reaction to Shiftry ex CG. Other people...maybe, but me? Not really. This card is not an ex, can sit on the bench, isn't shut down by any stadium, and are pretty good attackers too. People don't have to use poke-powers. People HAVE to use supporters or they lose. It's not like at a certain point in the game, they can just stop using supporters and still get by. Apples and Oranges imho.

This will be a big deck (maybe even teamed up with PK Omastar to make a new-age Rock-Lock deck). You can quote me on that.

Early game - You use supporters to setup.
Mid game - You use supporters to draw and continue to setup pokemon.
Late game - You use supporters to reshuffle cards from discard back into deck, continue to setup main attackers, shuffle your hand back in to get valuable techs and not to deck.

Show me a player who doesn't try to use a supporter every turn. People lose because they don't draw into enough supporters. Supporters are an universal element in every deck (unlike poke-powers, poke-bodies, delta pokemon).

That is why Ampharos will be so powerful. He counters every single deck.

Dom Jordan: How do you get the energy for delcatty to discard? How do you search your deck for specific cards (techs, tools, etc) which you might only have 1 of when delcatty drawing for 3 just won't cut it? How do you shuffle in pokemon/energy from the discard pile back into the deck (I know of the DP2 non-supporter which can do this, but just for emphasis)? You use a supporter. Even with Delcatty out or multiple delcatty out, supporters are needed. Just like you said, "With Delcatty you pretty much can later on." Good job, you can almost work around trainers near the very end of the game. All the other time, Ampharos is slapping you around for using them. Will Delcatty even survive if it's getting hit on the bench every time you use supporters? You have 7 good supporter uses before Delcatty is KO'd with (1) Ampharos out. You have 3 good supporter uses before Delcatty is KO'd with (2) Ampharos out. You have 1 good supporter use before Delcatty is KO'd with (4) Ampharos out. Good luck!

By magic of course.

Eh I'm tired, pay no attention, I didn't REALLY even mean it.

Ampharos is even better given the nature of the direction this game is taking (longer games, less OHKO).

Good luck!
Thanks, really appreciate it.

Ampharos/Shiftry. You use a Supporter to set up? Take 30. You use Powers to set up? Take 30. Either way, you LOSE.

Amazing Art :D

Amphy is hmmm.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Ya? You'll be busy setting that up while I take my last prize.

OK I am totally w/ Prime here.

Amphy being stackable would be crazy.

I believe this COULD have a very SLIGHT chance of being the new NEO GENESIS SLOWKING for the format.
It is quite similar because Slowking was stackable and made your opponent not want to use trainers AND it even had IGGLYBUFF which could shut down its power, but it STILL dominated.
Amphy is stackable and makes your opponent not want to play supporter and it can be shut down by LatiLock.
Igglybuff couldn't stop King, so I dunno if LatiLock is enough to stop Amphy.

At the same time, I haven't seen the rest of the set, but I am pretty sure this is gonna be played.

EDIT: I keep looking at the spoilers and I just don't see how it could not become an archetype. Absol ex+this+searcher (Queen/Fearow d prolly). I mean you can even use Amphy d. to turn all your pokes delta in order to be able to abuse Casty and Fearow d.
Think of it w/ Absol. You have 1-4 Amphys out (will just use 2 as a realistic mid-game example). Your opponent plays a supporter. You put 2 damage counters on each poke. Next turn, you drop Absol move some damage around and hit the bench again for 10. NOW it is getting serious. If the opponent plays a supporter then each benched poke will have 50. Enough to kill a few basics, and it prolly isn't gonna stop either.

I know that I am prolly exaggerating a little, but it really has never been hard for decks to set up 2-4 Stage 2 pokemon (ie. LBS, Flygon, MetaNite), so I don't find it much of a feat to get out a few Amphys and just spread damage everywhere. People are gonna be scared of supporters, and Absol ex is just SICK w/ this card. LatiLock could become staple and this deck could very well be the next Slowking, but don't mark my words on that. I am just making crazy predictions.

You still have to deal with BF/CC combination which would stop most of what you're saying.

BF doesn't even affect Ampharos, and Cessation Crystal is played by like 10% of the decks in the format.

Amphy's Jamming body stops working when multiple such body is activating,
like other Amphys' did.

No 4 dc on supporter sorry lol

Thank you vincent!

I agree, stackable would have been messed up. This still allows for it to be nifty, but not even close to how powerful it could have been.

Entei NR holo
Suicune NR Holo
Suicune NR nonholo
Mewtwo Movie Promo

I'm certain there are a few others, but that's the list I could come up with...
