Whether or not you're shunned has less to do with your Pokemon addiction and more to do with how you present it to your peers.

I plan on convincing some of my classmates to play Pokemon when I get into college. I'll need someone to playtest against once I'm away from my brother.

My whole school knows I play and they are more interested in it more than being stupid. I do get the odd jerk question like "whos your favorite Pokemon? Charizard would wreck that Pokemon! etc, but, I have plenty of friends that are supportive lol. Oh, and this is High School (not elementary)
