Yeah, but Mew and Celebi aren't available in the US yet. Celebi can't learn every move. Mew can. Jirachi has a very small movepool, actually.
 
then how have i seen people use them? my cousin has a celebi, and he's 9, and he, nor anyone he knows, has any acess to a game shark, im just wondering how that is possible.....

Oh, and "Jay", the games have a system that detects altered Pokemon, or something. It stops cheated Deoxys from entering Colosseum, or so I've heard.

EDIT: No Jeremy, they have yet to, probably sometime next year for Mew, though.

oh, ok, i was just seeing if it was easily detectable, they are very popular with the pokemon games, and, yes, venusuar, they were given out at events, but that was a long time ago, for red/blue/yellow, i believe, and celebi, for gold/silver/crystal, and as of right now, i dont think there is a way to trade between these two generations.

Psst... Corey, Mew is on World's Edge Island...info found on Serebii.net...

And Celebi, there was that Bonus Disc in Japan for Colosseum. What do we get? A year later, Metang...

8 players in a tournament seems too short.
 
well, i knew there was SOME way to get Mew in red/green but had no idea how, i know deoxys can be found in those games somewhere too, but again, no idea how to get the thing.

I heard you had to do a bunch of weird things, like flying from a trainer encounter, and walking left of Lavendar or something. But as far as Mew goes in the Advance Generation, you have to get the Old Sea Chart to get to World's Edge Island, where you fight a Lv. 30 Mew.

However, America, and the rest of the world (except Japan, of COURSE :rolleyes: ), have yet to see anything.
 
hmm...well, wierdest thing that ever happened to me like that was in gold, where i encountered the strangest wild pokemon ever..."wild rocket grunt has appeared"
 
I've been on the same "tile" as a Rocket Grunt in Yellow Version. Next to the Silph co., and I walked off the tile, and he appeared all of a sudden!

But anyways, would it be easier to fly to Chicago, or to drive there?
 
well, it all depends, how many people are going, if you've got a car full of people, like we had, definatly drive there, but if you're going on your own or something, its a toss up, with the gas prices and such, but when you know for sure if you're going, let me know, i know people in chicago, who play the TCG/GBA games, and we could maybe have some tag-alongs, lol
back to the main topic, i still havent decided what pokemon i should use, or if i should bother with trying it, lol
if i do, i'd probly have to go retro, and stick with
Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusuar.

If I was flying, it would likely be you and me, Corey.

If we were driving, however, I'd have, like, 4 spaces. (A different car to take us up, 6 spaces, 1 for driver, and 1 for me, of course.)
 
i have to ask, where is seth in all this? lol, not that i'd rather you replace me in your plan with him, i'll go, definatly (not sure when this is yet) but i know ppl in chicago (as i said) so if this was like a weekend trip (which im expecting it is) we might have a place to crash, lol (unless you already have plans for that, too)
another thing i'd like to know, is how exactly are we paying for plane tickets? lol (of course, that wont be as big of a problem, when one of us wins worlds, XD)

Actually, Seth has told me that he won't be able to do this kind of thing. As far as going there goes, it is on the 15th of October (a Saturday), not too far, but close enough to think about it. The whole plane ticket thing is up in the air. No idea. And, now that I think about it, we'd have 5 spaces, wouldn't we? (2 front row, and 3 instead of 2 in the middle, and then 2 in a back seat)

And, based on how it would happen, it would be one of those 1 day things, flying.

But, car-wise, it would be nice to have a place to stay! :thumb:
 
alright, now that we have no plane money, lol, looks like its gonna be an overnight, car ride thing, now, if i could talk my mom into driving, we'd have 1 seat (2, but its a tight fit) and we could stay with them, no problem, (it just makes things easier for getting to stay with them overnight)

Yeah, I'd have to talk to my mom about it now. In your case, we would be able to fit me and maybe Seth, if it works any other way, maybe not Seth.

Anyways, if we did do that, would you play in the TCG or GBA tournies?

I'll be back in...15 or so minutes. If the connection doesn't drop or not reconnect when I get back on. lol.

Alright, until then.

Now, where did I put those Gameboys?
 
I went to the San Jose Pokemon Rocks America so I guess I'll give a little report of what happened.

First, I enter a TCG tournament and I lose round 2 (It's 3 round single-elimination). I lose because on my last turn I did not see that I could have won by Snap Tailing a Moltres Ex on the bench to get my last prize -_-. Then I enter again and lose to the person I won the first round of the previous tournament due to a lack of energy. After this, I was pretty angry at the TCG so I decided to play in the GBA tournaments.

I enter the level 100 tournament with my Kangaskhan, Sceptile, and a level 80 Mightyena. I lose 2nd round (once again, 3 round single elimination) to a Zapdos so I see if I have any Pokemon that could fare well in the 50 and under.

I chose my Corsola that I had used in the Ruby and Sapphire challenge a few years ago, a Swampert I had received in a trade that past week, and a Starmie that I had no idea I had. Round 1 was pretty easy and I sweep his Pokemon. My opponent actually used Thunder on my Swampert -_-. Round 2 was also pretty easy and I won again. Round 3 was a great battle though and we got to play on the flat screen TVs in the area. Here's what happened:

Corsola vs. Milotic
Milotic used Surf -> Corsola has 10 HP left
Corsola used Mirror Coat -> Milotic Fainted

Trainer Keith sent out Registeel w/ Leftovers
Corsola used Earthquake -> Does 25% damage
Registeel used Toxic -> Attack missed!
Corsola used Recover -> Corsola has 50% health
Registeel used Toxic -> Corsola is badly poisoned
Corsola used Earthquake -> Registeel has 66% health
Registeel used Iron Defense
Corsola used Earthquake -> Critical Hit! Registeel has 5% HP left
Registeel used Rest
Switched Corsola for Starmie
Registeel is Asleep
Switched Starmie for Corsola (Natural Cure)
Registeel is Asleep
Corsola used Recover
Registeel used Toxic
*At this point we went back and forth me switching Corsola and Starmie until he swtched out Metagross*
Metagross used Earthquake
Corsola fainted

Starmie used Confuse Ray
Metagross Attacked itself
Starmie used Hydro Pump
Metagross Attacked itself
Starmie used Hydro Pump -> Metagross fainted
Registeel comes back out
Starmie used Confuse Ray
Registeel attacks itself
Starmie used Hydro Pump
Registeel attacks itself
Starmie used Hydro Pump
Registeel used Toxic -> attack missed
Starmie used Surf
Registeel is KOed

I won a Pokemon Game Boy Advance Video
The winners get put into a random drawing to play on the big screen, and unfortunately I was not picked...
But it's ok because I had a lot of fun and I look forward to playing in Phoenix! Also, each tournament takes approximately an hour, assuming you make it to Round 3. I also got my Mystic Ticket and Metang, as well as Pokemon Yahtzee so that was cool. I hope everyone else has as much fun as I had!
