Pokemon TCG for wii (only one can wish)

I was thinking about pokemon games and came up with this idea for a new and fun pokemon game :)

The Pokemon TCG for Nintendo Wii!

The game would use the motion controler to slap down, pick and choose cards you would like to play.

Starting the game you would pick one of the preformated decks that are out now, and after winning a few games you would get a new set of cards (winning against boss 1 would get you a complete set of DP, boss 2 MT and so on)

Wifi battles would have all cards from DP-on in which you would make decks that you could save to your controler.
Updates such as new sets, promos, and such would come via wifi download.

Double battles, sudden death, and normal Swiss rounds could be played.

And if your feeling lucky you may spend money (obtained by winning) on pokemon slot machines! Such as the ones on game boy!

Just an idea but I think it's a pretty good one :)

Personally, I think using the DS Touch Screen would be better for a card game. That's what YGO did. And the top screen had the actual monsters, too.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

They need a new Shadow Pokémon game for the Wii!

I dont know why that wont make a game like this. it would be so awesome and Nintendo would make alot of money off of it with wii points on the shop channel and stuff.

Not to mention that you could put it in your pocket and take it anywhere you wanted. The only thing I have against handhelds in this case is that it's quite difficult to fit more than one card on the screen of practically any device that small.

Something that would really sell, at least with me, would be the ability to play against the computer, much like you would play chess against it. The whole "money" thing, not so much...

How did they do it with the GC, Citadel?
I bet they could do it a bit like that again.
AND since it's Dual Screen, they could display the picture and stats of a card, next to each other on a screen to make it acually fit on the screen. Get what I'm saying?

Money in the game would be like winning a battle in diamond or pearl.

It could buy you packs of cards, individual cards, or a booster box.
You know?

When the monsters attack, they can show the pokemon doing an awsome attack on the top screen. That would be sweet!

You know, I've been wondering that myself...

That would be how they did it, I guess.

I guessed that. What kind of put me off was the slot machine idea, or gambling in general. As for the rest of the matter, I'm indifferent about it – I just want something to try out decks in solitaire mode.

Well the slots are in all of the game boy games.
And it could either get you more "money" to buy things, maybe things such as sleeves, colored dice, new coins, playmats, ect..

The reason this hasn't happened since base set is because of the development time it would take to code just DP-PT1. By the time those sets were coded, we would be on PT3. The game would be eternally behind the real game, and probably wouldn't sell well because of it. The only way to get around this would be to release the cards early to the programmers, but we all know this would probably lead to leaked cards and other problems.

So, you develop the cards that you can, and then release downloadable patches when new cards are available. Having an upgradeable game that keeps up with the Modified format would be a *massive* help with playtesting, and (at $35 for the game and $5 for each additional set) the Pokemon franchise would make a heckuva lot of money.

I was thinking about this when I saw the TCG that was released for the PS3; the game is called Eye of Judgment. This game uses a camera that is on the TV, the camera is looking at the playmat, and you play with your own cards. So when you are playing or a monster attacks the action appears on the TV. It’s really cool the graphics are awesome. When you buy it comes with the camera, the game and a Theme Deck.

So Nintendo could do the same but wit Pokémon TCG:pokeball:, it would be awesome, we could use our own cards and test our decks before a tournament. And we could play with people in Japan and other countries via Wi-Fi, even with people that are wining tournaments and show them we are better.

OMG GREAT IDEA!!!!!!! i like the idea of being able to buy boxes and packs and to unlock new sets and w/e really cool idea!!

Heck, it doesn't even need to be upgradeable, just look at all the YGO games Konami releases. People will buy them.

All I know is that I really would like to see a Pokemon TCG videogame again...

However! If they could code all those within that period of time, they could code the next two before another came out, you see? I think it would be lovely, not enough people use apprentice... anymore.

I love the idea, but it's not going to happen. Even with downloadable content, the developers could never keep up with the new cards coming out. It would always be behind. The coders could not write the new cards into the software until they were released to them, and I'm sure POP does not want new sets being released to third parties early. For the same reason Apple does all of their design in house, secrets leak from people you can't directly fire.
